(view spoiler)[I don't think she has really lost her magic. I think she just can't access it right now. I feel like Maria is steering us in the direction that the arrow is the culprit (and in extend Ambrose)

But my theory is the following:
The baby is the reason she can't access her magic! It was just bad timing! XD I think a baby from Valek (who is immune to magic) and the Soulfinder could totally have something to do with Yelena not being able to use her magic! (hide spoiler)]

I haven't yet finished Sadow study ( my family seem determined to stop me from reading for some random reason) and I still read that spoiler (kinda tempting) , so I have one question... WHAT?!!?

I'm trying!! But I'm also being called out of my room every 2 seconds. ITS SO IRRITATING!!! I literally have to start the page all over again because I don't know where I stopped before being called out! I FEEL LIKE CRYING!!

THATS A GREAT IDEA!! I was planning on going to the library with the book for some peace and quiet, but that requires walking. So I think the earplugs idea will actually work. If someone asks why I'm not responding... I never heard them!!!

I should really take more advice from you. And I'm the only one in my family whos ever picked my room lock so I guess I'm safe. Ari and Janco really got me interested in picking locks and I'v been practicing since then.

I just finished it like a minute ago! I got it downloaded straight to my kindle at midnight last night! I have never sworn or said 'WHAT?!' so many time when reading a book. MARIA WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?!!?!?!!

I agree with your theory Renee, I think it might have something to do with that but I'm not 100% convinced yet. I thought I might know the The Boss was then BHAM! well there goes that theory!

and now we have to wait aggggggeeeeeessssss until the next book. I probably shouldn't have read it so fast. I should have savoured each word.

I just had a thought.
(view spoiler)[ the baby can't be the reason Yelena can't access magic. Valek's immunity isn't natural, its something that happened to him later so it wouldn't be in his DNA. I think that might be a red hering to throw us off the scent and the real reason. I now think it has been done to her by the Commander. Maybe. I dunno.
But the baby wouldn't inherit Valek's immunity because he isn't supposed to be immune, like Opal. If Valek's children have immunity, then would Opal's as well? If that was true, then the number of people immune to magic would increas over the next few centuries...

Do you have paper clips at home? You'll need them.

where can I get real picks from? But I'm totally buying a padlock and a load of paperclips when I leave work today! There is also a load of videos on youtube about lock picking. I'll be popping locks like Janco in no time!

The best part about paper clips is that no one will wonder why you have them. And you can carry them around in your pocket all day.

I was the same after I read it! I've been thinking about it ever since I read it, I even went back a re-read Poison Study to see if there was anything in her early magic-ness to explain the whole thing.

'cause when I started reading it I forgot why I was reading it and got swept up in the story!

Nothing could have been as bad as Scent of Magic! That cliffhanger nearly killed me!

But yes, NOTHING can be worse than the ending of Scent of Magic. I actually thought Kerrick was dead.

As for the lock picking... It still takes me a LOT of time to pick the locks, but I do eventually. Thanks for the website, I'll try it out now!

Oh I've read ToP! Loved it. But SoM and ToD were released during my last couple of semesters of college, and I decided to wait until I could binge read them... And I got caught up in other books. :-/

I suddenly wish I hadn't read the series, I wish I had just found out about it and decided to read it, that way I would be able to enjoy the series again without knowing what to expect. By the way, I just realized something, we've completely gone off topic from Yelena losing her magic to how to pick locks to the wonderfulness of MVS's worlds.

I still say the finger points to the north. Who would benefit most if there was a way to strip magicians of their powers? The Commander. And he has already tried to kill Yelena once. If anyone is to blame, its him.
