Google search of keywords showed you posted on another site and the answer given was The FallThe seventh tower series by Garth Nix.

The kids do not go to the same school, and have to travel to find the xray vision kid. No one outside these special kids (that I can recall!) have these powers.
Pretty sure they were DNA engineered from professional athletes (like the girl from Olympic swimmers) and were told they were 'adopted' or found out as much.

Yeah, it is most certainly not that series - my series is modern-day (hence the blue M&Ms)

- Plot: Kids discover they have 'super' powers - one girl can memorize things perfectly, one girl can hold her breath for a long time, one boy can see through things like x-ray vision (except through lead).
The Memory Girl thinks blue M&Ms are the best, and the main Boy (can't recall his power) gifts her a jar of blue M&Ms.
The Breath Girl finds out her power by sticking her head into a sink of water to calm herself down and go through her thoughts - before realizing she'd been under the water for several minutes.
The Xray Vision boy we first meet is playing wheelchair basketball with his buddies/family and surprises the main cast by standing and greeting them.
- Paperback, with blue/yellow stripe near the top iirc. Pictures of the kids on the fronts.
The book series is set in 'modern day' so 90's/00's... I read this 2004-2007ish... Age range I'd say 12+
