I am trying to remember the name and author of a book that I read 1-2 years ago. The books begins with a man who becomes aware that he is falling from the sky. Below him is water. As he gets closer to the water, he sees that there is someone in a boat. Just before he hits the water, the person in the boat heckles/insults him. When he hits the water it is very painful. He feels the pain of his bones breaking. Sometimes it is the fall that kills him and other times he dies from drowning. As this loop is continually repeated, he tries to learn how to hit the water at different angles in an attempt to survive the fall.
