I'm waiting for Cisco to get his love interest. I am <3 him. I love geeks, if you can't tell.

I love the unrequited love aspect between Barry and Iris; I'm not sure I would buy it if it actually stopped being unrequited. Barry went through a lot to get over Iris, and I think it would be better character development (and less soap opera) if Barry didn't come running back to her once she finally stops being afraid enough to show her true feelings. I also have a sliiight thing against Iris for using Barry so cavalierly-- she doesn't want to date him but she wants all his help and attention while she dates another person? Iris also has a penchant for making lots of speechs that no one in real life would say, lol. Not her fault; she actually pulls it off by saying the speeches ultra cheerfully, but at the same time, it gives me the impression she is willfully not seeing Barry's love for her because she wants to benefit from it with no guilt.
At first I thought her cop boyfriend was just another meathead, but then....I suddenly started liking him! I think it was just me liking the sound of his voice (a really nice rumble!), but later on there was an episode where he coached Barry on boxing/punching, and then I realized that I was pre-judging him just because he superficially looked like a frat boy douchebag. He's actually really cute!
Now Barry is rather comedically/awkwardly dating Iris' Asian coworker. I don't have a good feel for her, but I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

I actually agree about the lack of Barry/Iris chemistry. Honestly I like her with Eddie better. They are cute. But Iris/Barry are canon.... oh well.

But since I hadn't had much exposure to what "should have been", I've acclimated and really like how Barry is portrayed now!

OMG. I love Young Justice. I'm no expert on the cannon though but they were pretty liberal with their version. I think for me it's the actors that don't have chemistry between. Kind of like Arrow and Laurel. I did not ship them at all, on any day. But the moment Felicity came on the screen I was like YES! That! Which is sad because I loved the actress who plays Laurel. Or rather I loved her Ruby character on Supernatural.

In Arrow her character is a real pain, plus I can't stop looking at her fake? eyelashes and how awful her fingers look. In Supernatural, she looks much more normal. I definitely like Felicity a lot! So derpy as well, but very fashionable. I probably wouldn't like it if Arrow stopped being an idiot about her though...something about unrequited pining really drags out the tension in a good way, imo. :D
I'm still watching Season 2 of Arrow though, so I don't know how things have developed in Season 3.
In a way, it's kind of nice to not have everything match in lockstop across adaptations? I remember getting so frustrated watching LotR The Two Towers because I had read the book before. It felt like spoiler city, so the only time I really enjoyed the movie was when they deviated from the book and didn't know what was happening. Or I would end up thinking "It was so much better in the book!".

I love Dr. Well's interactions with Papa Cop too!! Those two are amazing actors, should just leave them in a room together for the whole episode!

That and why are the Prison Break actors hamming it up to such a degree? Half the time I want to laugh, the other half I'm wondering why the heck they thought it was a good idea to overact like that. It's so hard to believe them when they keep spouting with an overindulgent Villain Voice.

In the comic books Iris has always been a white female. Fortunately, both Marvel and DC comics are updating formerly white characters to be played by people of color. (The most dramatic of these updates is Samuel L. Jackson, who in my opinion was born to play Nick Fury.)
Times have changed. In an interview years ago Adam West said when Eartha Kitt started playing Catwoman on the old "Batman" TV show in the 1960's the producers insisted that none of the sexual tension between the two characters continue as it had been when Julie Newmar played that villain. (Showing my age on that one, huh?)
I'll check out "The Flash" when it comes out on DVD and I can watch the episodes back to back without commercials.
