Dorottya (dorottya_b) | 66 comments For me, almost any beginning book of a YA fantasy series - not the book's fault, it is just not my genre and just too long of worldbuilding and getting to know characters. The first book in the Grisha trilogy (one of the only few books I actually DNF'd) and The Winner's Curse come to mind.

Too much repetition with all the lives. I felt the same way about The Midnight Library and all the choices. I was bored reading both of them.

I felt this way with Life After Life. It was just reading the same beginning to a story over and over again. I never did finish it.

Renee (elenarenee) | 149 comments I agree on Midnight Library. I go farther and say the book was dangerous. I suffer from depression. I have had times when I don't want to be around. In the bad down times I may have believed that if I ended it I could make changes like in the book. I am glad I read the first part of the book while i was on my meds because I am not sure what could have happened if I were not.

Rave Every. Single. Cliché YA book. I have never been a fan of this genre and maybe it's just because I was more drawn to adult thrillers growing up but the few times I've managed to finish any YA books was incredibly boring and predictive. I think the last YA book I read was called Of Beast and Beauty and it was an interesting concept which did actually throw me for a loop at the end but it was still a little boring for me. I finished it and I just felt like I hadn't achieved anything, maybe because I didn't really like the ending I guess?

Anu (anu_datta) | 25 comments 1. Pachinko - there are only so many times you can use the word "whore" on a page before it loses its shock factor.
2. The Alchemist - I forgot what I was reading while I was reading it.

Ella The Spanish love deception, Malibu rising and The song of Achilles

I agree when it comes to "The Alchemist", I can't understand why it's so popular.
And I've recently finished a classic book that I found utterly boring - "Mrs Dalloway", such a disappointment.

Ouch. That's pretty bad.
