cerise coleman fell | 1 comments Fiction novel about a young girl who lives with her older brother and mother in (I think Bristol UK) on a council estate. The mother is an alcoholic and the brother looks after her but then ends up abusing her. The book is written in an accent (all words sound as spoken) at the end the girl and brother end up going into social care. I believe the title is the name of the girl, 1 or two sylabols, could he wrong. Mother drinks white lightening and smokes lots of ciggerettes and often falls asleep on the couch. I read the book around 2010.

Ky | 449 comments Daisy, "eye dialect" means the author attempts to write someone's accent phonetically.

Thanks! That's a strange way of using the word "dialect," which means something else entirely, but hey, language is weird.
