You nailed it! I quoted it from the movie script. Loved the movie. John Lithgow stole the show.

Completely agree with Raucous on this!

Cheryl L | 415 comments I am often delighted by jaded lines about motherhood:

Sounds like something that would be said of Leopold of Belgium.

Ah, what? No, I must have taken the wrong turn at Albuquerque.

Don't know what book it comes from, but that does seem to be the proper response.

Please, please, some stick a fork in polka, the most annoying music short of bagpipes to existing. And bagpipes were meant to scare people.

That is part of the joke, of course. No one really wants to listen to Butters polka music, but the like him so they encourage his hobby.

I agree with you even though my uncle used to be on a Saturday morning polka show in Minnesota.

I have always heard the saying as...it is the journey not the destination. Or you should take time to stop and smell the roses.

So I am going to go with a self-help book on how to live your life as the source of your quote. Although that might be too in context. So maybe instead a biography of Bennidect Arnold.

message 383: by Dj (new)

Dj | 2364 comments Economondos wrote: "It was in The Left Hand of Darkness."

Hmm, I am not sure that is a journey I would want to be taking without rushing to the destination. Although that is the way it goes sometimes.
