Brett Bosley | 335 comments I'm reading a nonfiction about female animals called Bitch (Lucy Cooke). There is so much material that it almost feels like cheating. @Dj, nope, spider. Guy was trying to get a critically endangered species to reproduce. He succeeded despite the death (the male was determined.)

Today's:

"Witnessing a pair of wrinkly pink penises savage each other to death with long yellow teeth is disturbing in many ways."

I would have to agree with that last. And I have never seen anything even remotely like that. Now I have to go get some bleach to clean out my mind's eye.

I guess that googling is cheating, but since I found this in what appears to be an actual historic document, and not a literary immitation thereof, perhaps I may be excused.

How on Earth have you found this ?!?

message 182: by Brett (new)

Brett Bosley | 335 comments It's in a little gem called The Stories the Soldiers Wouldn't Tell: Sex In the Civil War. I found it in a used book store at random. The quote is from a court martial, in the chapter on conduct unbecoming of officers.
