The Bachelor Team Challenge Round 8 - Q&A, Tracking & Announcements

https://www.goodreads.com/series/3130...

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
O is for Ocean - Read a book with a body of water on the cover.
To qualify for this task, the selected book needs to have a body of water on the cover. The bodies of water need to occur in nature and be of some permanence, puddles, pools and ice rinks will not count.
O is for Octuple - Read a book from a series with 8 or more books listed on GR.
To qualify, the selected book needs to be in a numbered series listed on GR with at least 8 books included in the series. In between books will count in the series total for this task, but to count they must be distinct works. Not all books in the series need to have been released, but an unpublished book needs to have a title and an expected release date available for it to count as one of the required books. Series without order or numbers will not be allowed for this task. Series such as 1001 Dark Nights will also not be allowed.
O is for Once in a Blue Moon - Read a book written by an author with 50 or fewer distinct works who was first published at least 10 years ago.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be written by authors with 50 or fewer distinct works whose first book was published prior to August 2012. When looking at the author's GR page, under the profile and questions is a section for the author's books. Under the section title 'author's books' it has statistics - average rating, number of ratings, number of reviews, number of distinct works. For this task, the number listed there for distinct works needs to be 50 or fewer. This is the only place I will look to confirm your books - if the number listed there is not 50 or fewer AND the first book was not published more than 10 years ago, your book will not work for this task. Please include a link to the author's GR page in your completion post along with the date and title of their first published book release (or any book published more than 10 years ago). If the author writes under pseudonyms, the name listed on the selected book needs to qualify for this task. If the author's primary name is listed along with the pseudonym, for example "Nora Roberts writing as J.D. Robb", the pseudonym still needs to qualify on its own - you may not use the primary name to qualify your book. If both the primary and pseudonym names are listed authors on the GR main book page, the pseudonym is the name that needs to qualify. Books written by duo authors that do not write under a combined pseudonym, i.e. Christina Lauren or Ilona Andrews, are not allowed for this task.
O is for Oral - Read a book that has an audio edition available.
To qualify, the book needs to be available as an audiobook. You do not need to listen to the audiobook, but one needs to be available. Please link to the audio edition on GR of your chosen book. If that is not available, please provide a link to audible (preferred) or Amazon showing the audio edition.

I am unsure about this one. I can’t tell if #6.5 has been published or if there is an expected publication date. If there is more info there than I can see, it should work. If not then it won’t. I can check from my computer when I get home.

I can answer that one since it came up in a previous round. If the book is in another qualifying series you can use it...you just can't use the 1001 Dark Nights series (or others like it) to qualify the book.

I can't find any info that would qualify #6.5 in this series so I would say it doesn't work. . If you find more information, you can include it and ask again.

Thanks Karen for answering, you can't use 1001 Dark Nights. If the books are listed in another series though - you can use it.

I will head over and check shortly.

I want to say no - snippets and deleted scenes, how are they really even listed?! But they are listed and they do have publication dates, so I guess it works.

Thank you!

I want to make sure everyone understands what I am looking for this week. When looking at the top of the series page, you will see two things - primary works and total works.
Primary works are going to be the whole number books in a series. Total works are going to include things like omnibus collections or an anthology even though the specific story from the series may be listed separately.
What I am counting is whole number, plus partial numbers - the prequel or in between books numbered 0.5, 1.5 etc. I do not count any omnibus or anthologies (if the specific story is listed on its own).
To qualify for Octuple - there must be at least 8 primary works plus partial numbered works. For the partial number works listed to count, the need to have a publication date or an expected publication date.

For Once in a Blue Moon - are you looking for the date of the author's first published work or the publication date of the first book in the series?
Only asking as I have been noting author's first published work, which isn't the first in the series I am reading.
For mine, both dates do meet the requirements. Just want to
make sure I'm noting the proper publication dates in my posts.
Thanks!

I was looking for a water cover - and found that the wrong book was added to an incorrect title.
Which really messed with my night by the way. LOL

You can use the first published book or any book published more than 10 years before the date began.

There are several in the challenge. Hopefully one will be in touch. I'll see if I can reach out to one. 😊

Avoiding Hell's Gate 2nd edition kindle

Sorry for the delay - we were out all day.
You use the earliest dated English language Kindle edition page count. In this case it is the second edition from April 28, 2014 and has 172 pages.

Thanks!

Unspeakable or Unforgivable?

I look at them and see rivers/creeks but I can see how it would feel a little more abstract.

Yes, both would work. It is a weird angle for the picture - makes you question what you are seeing.

For this date, I will not be correcting any completion posts, but I will be checking the threads. If the completions are incorrect or missing elements and are not corrected AND reposted, the book will not count. Teammates, help each other out! Double check for qualifiers, MPG romance, page count and that ALL required info is in all completion posts! Because I will be checking the threads, please repost all corrections even though I am not requesting them! I will accept a link to any edition as long as the page count in the completion post is the first edition Kindle page count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books!
PLEASE, include that your post is a repost when making corrections and don't forget which book number it is for you!!
In the Scavenger Hunt thread, I will only be listing the claims that are complete. The first complete post for any book will claim it. If the book doesn't qualify, I will still comment stating so. Follow the dots here - if the book is listed, all is good. If the book isn't listed, but I didn't comment, something is wrong/missing in your completion post - and the book can be claimed by another participant.
I will only be answering questions in the Q&A or Scavenger Hunt threads! If you want a quicker response, post in the Q&A thread.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the precis or cover - say so (see above edition or something similar)! The less links I need to open the better! That saves us all some steps. When using tags/shelves as a qualifier, please link to the selected book's top shelves page that contains your qualifying tag (NOT the link for the shelf - that would still leave me searching for the book) in your completion post. Also include the number of tags and the top shelves page number - this information is extremely helpful if the tag moves or the link is broken and both happen frequently. And please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
R is for Radio - Read a book featuring a musician/singer.
To qualify for this task, the title, series title, précis, list or tag would need to indicate that a MC is a musician or singer. It could be the generic musician or more specific to an individual instrument such as drummer, pianist, etc. This also applies to singer, it could be generic or more specific such as soprano or tenor.
R is for ??? - ???
To be revealed when the date begins.
R is for Robber - Read a book featuring law enforcement officers.
To qualify, the book has to feature a law enforcement officer. This needs to be evident in the precis, title, series, tags or list. Words such as 'law enforcement', 'law enforcement officer', 'cop', 'police officer', 'detective', 'sheriff', 'deputy', 'constable' or 'FBI agent' would qualify. That list is not inclusive. Combo tags will be checked closely! If your qualifying tag is 'police-fireman-paramedic' and all other tags or precis indicate that the book is about a fireman or paramedic, your book will not qualify.
Please note that private investigators/private detectives are NOT considered law enforcement officers.
R is for Rubicate - Read a book with a red title on the cover.
To qualify for this task, the book's title must be printed in red. The entire title does not need to be red, but at least one complete word must be red. Ampersands or punctuation in red will not qualify your book. You can use any edition's cover to qualify for this task. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion posts.

Can't believe it's the final week.
For Robber would a magical law enforcement agency count? I'm thinking of books like Agent Bayne or A Ferry of Bones & Gold where there's a separate department/ organisation that deals with magic users.
Thanks!

Both of those books have 'law-enforcement' tags (on the first page for reference), so they would work. For other similar books, I would need something to show it is law enforcement - not military or private investigators.
