Possible YA Fantasy/ Magic where main character is kidnapped in the first few chapters

I dont remember much about this because it was years ago and at this point I wonder if it was a fever dream. What I do recall in the few chapters I read was that the main character is this girl, and she and her friend decided to go to this parking lot with her friend's dog and what they would do is put on rollerskates and take turns letting the dog drag them around. It just so happens to be really foggy that day so when her friend goes too far she loses sight of her. Then MC notices something on the ground and picks it up (cant remember what that was either) but after this she is kidnapped and wakes up locked in a room, her shoes and glasses taken to keep her from trying to escape. Apparently the item she saw and picked up was some kind of test because most people wouldnt have been able to even see it. Theres also another boy around her age who is bringing her food and telling her things.

I have no idea if it was one book or a series or what, i only read about that far into it and either lost the book or it wasnt mine in the first place.
