This thread is open for discussion beginning June 1st! Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed (mark as a spoiler) in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days of the month can be used to catch up if needed! Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads.

I've finally started this and read Weapons.

I like that we have all six POV, and all the characters are so complex. The relationship between Libby and Nico bothers me, but after reading the others I think they all will be annoying haha

The writing style remind me of "the devil's thief"

Apart from Aristi (who maybe has finished the book by now haha), has anyone started reading? :3

I haven't started it, but I guess now I kinda have to 😅 because I don't want to read it alone. However, I'll try starting it tomorrow because I have to start 2 other BRs and I'm going to be behind on those but I at least want to start them.

I'm also yet to start but plan to listen as an audio on my 10 hour drive next week so I won't be that great at the incremental check ins. Maybe at the rest stops? It sounds like a strong start.

Read part II: Truth~

I hate the relationship between Nico and Libby, and I thought Nico was an idiot until I've read her first chapters.

THIS IS CHAOS. I'm still confused to what to think of the characters, but as you said, it will be like this all the time. I'll have to adapt.

Also, he's so intuitive. I loved that part...

I have a chaos in my mind right now with all the relationships and all.

But for now I'll say: OMG THE WORMHOLE!!! I didn't expect that at all, but I like the way we're discovering Libby and Nico's magic. I like it <3

My favorites are still Nico and Reina~ I'm still trying to understand the adults. Parisa is so cold, and she has hidden -very hidden- motives, but I'm curious about her. Tristan has a clear objective, but he's so apathetic (after reading his chapter on V: Time, I undertsand him a bit better though?). And Callum... Uff. I can't stand him. He's apathetic, cold, and doesn't give a frick about this. And yet I've read that some people love him????? Each person has each own preferences but anyway... *sigh* I don't think I will like him at the end either way, even if his story is traumatic and horrible.

HAHAHAHAHA Oooh I loved it!! I'm lucky then (and so picky with people, if that's a thing) and I don't have any Callums near me ^^'

ANYway, spoiler from chapter V: Time
(view spoiler)[Wow, Daltos is such a mystery. I've never thought about that but in Parisa's chapter, when she goes into his mind and find "the other" Dalton, it makes me think.
What if the interior Dalton is the original one, and the physical one is the man he was supposed to kill? Like a possession or something like that?

I swear, reading this makes me have philosophical thoughts haha.

Also I have another theory about the whole Society. What if every group has to make a time-space tunnel/machine/whatever, and the one that nobody want to continue goes back in time? I'm not sure about it, but I always try to think what can happen on books hahaha (Aristi, you can laugh at my crazy theories :P)

Deep cleaneses are good for your mental health. A few months ago I did unfollow some Goodread friends because they were always complaining about books; it seemed they didn't enjoy reading at all :(

I was thinking about my favorite characters and I think Nico and Reina are still my favorites. Then I can't stand Callum and Parisa, though her story is really interesting. Libby and Tristan are just "meh" to me, but I like their relationship :)

Chapter VI
(view spoiler)[OMG the threesome 👀. I loved it, I didn't expect it at all! And I don't know what's happening between Ezra and Libby but it's not good. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter VIII: Death

(view spoiler)[A lot is happening right now. I think every reader thinks that Callum is the one they would chose to die, but they also know how powerful he is after the Parisa's incident. And I thought that he really won't. This book is so complicated for a direct death like that lol So I was surprised that he "killed" Tristan, but I wasn't sad neither.

On the other hand, the Libby incident surprised me. I don't know what's happening so CRAZY THEORIES time it is.
I think Ezra raptured her. We don't know Ezra's potential, and I also think that he's part of the Forum somehow. I'm also suspicious of Dalton, since he can do "animations", and he doesn't know Libby to make a perfect copy of her. (hide spoiler)]

Wow the second to last chapter was mind-blowing!! I didn't expect that at all.

This is the time when we share theories about what is happening and what will happen next.

Are you going to read the next one? I'm not sure, I'm curious but not at all? It feels weird right now haha

About Callum and Tristan... I think Callum played with him using his empath powers, so in the end he stopped trying and Callum tried to kill him (or just scare him), but he didn't do it.

I think Atlas is trying to create a new world, almost literally. Since the Earth is dying, both Atlas and Ezra thought how to make better things instead of just having power. One of this is creating a new Earth (or transporting into one, with the wormholes and all), the other is destroying the Society. Or at least it's what I think?

About Dalton I'm pretty sure inside him there's another person, a conscious one. Maybe the one who was "killed" on their promotion.
Also I have another theory. Ezra paid a siren for a Libby's animation, and what if that siren is Gideon's mom, and Gideon went to Dalton's mind to steal that animation? Or somehting like that, but I think it's related.

Hmm That's an interesting theory but, if they kill their younger selves, would they stop living at that moment? I don't have a theory about that, though, so maybe? XD

I think Libby is in a far future/past, since she can't scape, or so Ezra says.
Yeah? I didn't expect that from him. I think a boring relationship was just an excuse so Libby left him and started another relationship with...anyone.

I rated it 4 starts, but it's more a 3.5. As you say, too much theory and little plot, too many questions and so little answers.
I wanted more development on NICO. I was hyped with him, and at the end the story went with the others. I'm still curious about Gideon and him. <3

You're welcome! At least that's what I understood. Atlas and Ezra are like two revolutionaires, though Atlas has aged and has a better understanding of the Society, and Ezra hasn't.

Yep, I think Ezra cares about her, and I think that maybe he kidnapped her to protect her? So nobody could kill her before anything happened.

Aaah I'm not the only one that likes Gideon! He seems so cute, but I still don't understand him. (hide spoiler)]

By the way, there's a short story about Libby, Nico and Gideon (the book is Sacred Hospitality). If I can find it online, maybe I will read it~
Edit: I've searched a little, and I think it was a preorder the published version of Atlas Six. It's not even on the author's site haha ^^'

"And they also might still be horrible human beings so.... :P" HAHAHAH yes, yes, totally agree! I don't ship more of them because they just hang up with who they want without any pressure... Wichi is good in some way. All books don't need to have proper romantic relationships.

So much traffic and I finished this yesterday. What a weird and somewhat complicated book! I love all the theories!!

(view spoiler)[ I loved Libby and Nico and how they were finally realizing that they don't work as well apart. Personally I believe Nico is in love with Gideon (though he may not know it yet) and just has brotherly feelings for Libby.

100% believe that the siren hired by Ezra was Gideon's mom and that Gideon is the one that stole the animation out of Dalton's mind.

Not sure what is going on with Dalton. Maybe he felt so grateful for Atlas saving him that he signed on to Atlas' personal project? May Atlas did some kind of mind trip on him to lock away the Dalton that understand what Atlas is trying to do?

Atlas wants to destroy the world to remake it again- think that is where Reina and Nico's trick for making new life again comes in... but I think he is somehow willing to risk utter destruction if needed. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Ezra seems to have come around to understanding the evil in Atlas' plan? Though the means he is choosing may be just as evil? I don't think he intentionally wants to hurt Libby but calling the remaining initiates the enemy is not fair since they have no idea of the evil plans.

Libby seems to still be on Earth, just a different time. I think that Tristan and Libby could have a real relationship but she was too insecure after they hooked up and gave him the wrong signals assuming that he just wanted a fling and trying to protect herself.

Love Reina and the crying plants. Not sure what to make of Callam and Parisa and all the mind tricks. (hide spoiler)]

Oooooh I totally forgot about Reina and Nico's trick for making new life! That makes sense in a new world - they would need plants after all!

What Ezra doesn't know yet, I think, is that Callum isn't dead. So his plans, whatever they are, maybe don't go as planned.

@Bopeep, I'm curious about the second one. (view spoiler)[I wonder how much of a battle it will be between Atlas' six and Ezra's six. It might also depend on how quickly they are able to track down Libby.
I think she and Nico would be boring if separated the whole book.
