► UNSOLVED: One specific book > The book is set in the Victorian or Edwardian Era. It involves the daughter of an inventor or creator of some sort who goes missing or is kidnapped. There is a romance element. If it helps, I purchased the book at the Dollar Tree.

Andrea Miller | 1 comments I purchased this book at the Dollar Tree around 2018. It was the first in a series about the daughter of an inventor or clockmaker, something like that. I think there is a plotline that has to do with solving a secret and avoiding an enemy of some sort. Her father goes missing/is kidnapped. She searches for him and is helped by a handsome stranger. At the end of the book they return to her home, which is a manor, and have not found her father yet. There is a scene in a train/train cabin? Where he tries to not watch her changing or has to help her unlace her dress. The male protagonist's name is like, James or Vincent or something very either Victorian or Edwardian Era.

The main character was female, as was the author. I don't think it was a very popular series. It was a physical book but I cannot remember if it was hard or soft cover.

Thank you so much in advance for any help you can offer
