Romance book/model abducted/hiding in the desert

I believe the girl is a model who gets abducted. She is supposed to seduce a guy to be a distraction so a sheikh(?) can kill him. The guy figures this out and runs off into the desert with the girl. They literally run in the desert in jut their underwear. At some point they arrive at a house where they hide out. Near the end the sheikh(?) finds them and the guy gets shot in the chest. His army friends come to the rescue and he is taken to the hospital in a helicopter. She goes to another with a foot infection cause she’s been running around the desert with no shoes. He wakes up and doesn’t know her name cause he always called her by a nickname.
I think it’s either a harlequin presents, harlequin blaze or silhouette desire. These were the series I mainly read. Read this around 2007-2009.
