SOLVED. JF/YA from 1970s/80s set around Seattle /s

I read this book in the early 1980s. It's set in the Seattle area. The protagonist is a pre-teen or teen girl. I don't remember the cover, names of characters, or much about the plot, which included some light romance. The main thing I remember is that one part of the story involved her going to a party at a roller rink (Skate King), which is an actual location in Bellevue, WA.

I met the writer at a young author's conference at Seattle Pacific University, probably in 1982 or 1983. She lived in the Pacific Northwest, but I don't remember her name, either. Thanks for any help you can give.
