Our May pick will be Machinehood by S.B. Divya.

This one came as a recommendation on discord.

Let us know what you think about the pick.

Ruth | 1790 comments I haven’t heard of this before but it looks interesting. I’ve just bought the audiobook with one of my spare Audible credits.

Chris K. | 425 comments I haven't heard of this book or author before but it looks intriguing.

message 4: by Rick (new)

Rick Oh well, it was nice to read along this month. But if I want dystopia, I can turn on the news.

message 5: by Joe (new) - rated it 5 stars

Joe Deisler | 51 comments I read this last spring and really liked it. I was disappointed it never really got any attention, so I’m excited for more people to read it.

message 6: by Trike (new)

Trike | 11242 comments I bought this book in hardback when it came out. Now I have an impetus to move it to the top of the TBR stack!

Iain Bertram (iain_bertram) | 1740 comments $40 for the hard back... Not out in a library ($20 for kindle version)... When the audiobook is the cheapest option sigh....

message 8: by John (Taloni) (new)

John (Taloni) Taloni (johntaloni) | 5205 comments I got home from a convention, put this on hold at LA Public Library, and got it before dinner ended. LA County library is a three week wait, well within reading time for the book altho I don't need that one due to LAPL providing it so fast. So, for those with access to a library that has it, give it a try.

Colin Forbes (colinforbes) | 534 comments This one’s been on my radar for a while, with the author being an editor and sometime host on the Escape Pod podcast. Going to use an Audible credit for this one, since there doesn’t seem to be a Kindle option in the UK.

message 10: by Paul (new) - added it

Paul Fagan | 172 comments Working at a library, I've made a habit of judging books by their cover (heresy, I know). When this book came in, I had never heard of it, but the cover really appealed to me, so I put it on my to-read list based exclusively on that. So this should be a good test of my book-cover prejudices!

message 11: by AndrewP (new)

AndrewP (andrewca) | 2670 comments Going to skip this one as I will be vacation for a couple of weeks and not up for dystopia while trying to get away from it all.

message 12: by Ruth (new) - added it

Ruth | 1790 comments Tried this and unfortunately I didn’t get on with it- I found the writing style very flat and info-dumpy. I’m also not a huge fan of this kind of near(ish) future science fiction dystopia. I’ll be sitting this one out.
