Looking for a book that I read a long time ago

A long time ago (2009 or 11) I read a book, the cover stood out and it really the only thing I most remembered. Which is bugging me. The cover was blue with a boy that seem to glow with a stone(if I am remembering right). I think it had something to do with this boy running away from someone or something. And he found a stone along the way. (It driving me crazy and I want to know what it was, help please)
