Ri | 8 comments A boy creates a board game for a class assignment. The book went into detail about the specifics of the game; the board was triangular shaped, made out of glass and styrofoam. He used the erasers off the tops of pencils to create the game pieces. At some point he ends up inside the game. He has a fortune cookie with him that he is told is unbreakable until 'the end.' The antagonist is an evil woman (red hair maybe) who can clone herself. At the end, she comes close to squishing either the main character or his dog in a crazy metal machine she has, but he stops her by throwing the unbreakable fortune cookie between the gears and breaking the machine.
I remember a scene where he is walking up a mountain of snow toward a house/mansion and he never gets closer, no matter how much he walks.
Also, during the woman's downfall at the end, her body kind of splits apart down the middle (?) like 2 halves opening.... that's everything I remember. The whole book had a kind of fever dream feel to it.
If you have any info that can help me find the title I would really appreciate it!!
