Hello, I’m ilse (Eel-say). I just joined this group! I managed to hope on Goodreads on my laptop, which is way better than my iPhone. I played around and found the group page. I found this one as a result. Definitely my cup of tea. Hope to catch up on some future reads with y’all! 🖤🧛🏼♀️

@Ilse: Welcome and glad you joined! LoL yeah, I prefer using Goodreads on PC since the app is just so bad. I wish they'd update it to make it more modern, sleek, intuitive, and just better when it comes to responding in groups, you know?Looking forward to future discussions with you :-)

Hi folks, just joined. I like science fiction in almost any form, but I favor hard SF and Space Opera. I'm also a writer, mostly of Space Opera novels, but my short stories run the gamut. I also like reading some mystery, crime, and adventure stories, especially Elmore Leonard and Lee Child, and stray into a few other genres as well, if it looks interesting.

Hello, everyone 👋My name is Sally, I’m brand new here, and excited to make some new friends who love reading the same as I do! I just semi-recently opened a Goodreads account to keep track of the books I read in the coming New Year. And thought it would be fun to join a group like this.
My favorite book genre is horror, especially those vintage 70’s & 80’s massmarket paperbacks, hence the profile pic 😆 And I’ve gathered quite the collection! But I enjoy modern day horror, as well as fantasy, thriller/suspense & more. Looking forward to getting to know you all more & joining in the fun conversations & buddy reads!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Please be patient with me as I, 1. figure out how Goodreads groups work. Definitely finding replying on my desktop is easier than on the app. And 2. Catch up on all the great content in the group! Lots of good topics I'll hopefully get a chance to reply to.

Do you ever notice how much Stephen King uses the name Sally a lot in his earlier works? I used to keep track, cause I'm a dork like that, and in The Stand alone, he used the name Sally for 5 different characters. haha

I'm not sure how to answer your question. But I am a fan of Hodgson and Lovecraft. I recently read Songs of a Dead Dreamer and Grimscribe and was blown away! I like thinking horror. Also gothic. Not so much splatterpunk.
