I voted for Old Man's War because I've had that on my TBR for ages. Fingers crossed it's chosen!

It's a group here on GR and it's a task based seasonal challenge. I used to participate every year and the last few years I couldn't. It's moderated and very specific. I enjoy it as it helps me knock a lot of books off my TBR. If you participate and finish the challenge then you get to create one of the tasks for the next season. I finished the Spring season and created a task for the upcoming Summer season. : )

Here's a link if you want to check it out:
The Seasonal Reading Challenge aka SRC

Speaking of the growing TBR Sighs while at the library yesterday, I was looking for a specific NF book and a shelf or two below I found 5-6 of these books for different years.
I read this one Reading Group Choices 2014 by Reading Group Choices and really enjoyed it. The book had about 60 books that got picked for 2014 Reading Groups. For each book, there's a synopsis, author info and book group discussion questions. Some of the book choices I haven't read yet, but are on my TBR. After reading about each book and the discussion questions(without spoiling the whole story) it really helped me learn more about each book. Some of the ones that were on my TBR, I decided that I wasn't THAT interested in reading them after all and those got removed from the TBR, where others I had never heard of I found very interesting and those got added to the TBR LOL

Me too. My TBR is long so some unfortunately sit there for years.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments Anyone else have three days off for the holiday? I'm hoping to get a lot of reading done and have read-a-thon spurts in between some housework. Definitely in the mood for this 3-day break from work.

Although I don't work, we don't have any plans for the holiday. I'm hoping it is going to be drama free and relaxing. But who knows especially when I'm looking after my elderly parents. I hope you enjoy your holiday weekend Erin : )

Seasonal Reading Challenge. There's a whole group. I'm in it and always want to take part but I get sidetracked. It has some pretty interesting prompts.

Yes, some of those prompts get interesting and sometimes "challenging" to find books to fit them. Woo Hoo!!! I hope you enjoy your 3 days off too. Any specific plans of what you want to read or finish? I have several I'm anxious to read but trying to hold off until June 1 so I can use them for the SRC. It's hard to wait lol

I'm hoping to finish Cabinet Jack and Wildfire and Edie in Between and My Contrary Mary

Louise | 3331 comments Good morning all, it’s finally the weekend. Managed to finish An Ordinary Life and will finally have Wildfire done today. I will get an update posted later today. Going to get my nails done ready for my weekend away next week and have a wonder over to the “beach” with the dog.
Our local council have transported truckloads of sand to the local park and are putting on a beach party, complete with a punch & Judy show. 🤣

Hopefully everyone across the water is enjoying their holiday weekend.

I intermittently take part in this, I’m awful at tracking solo challenges. I’ve looked at this season’s prompts and have earmarked some books to fit. I have an ongoing spreadsheet for this hopefully I’ll be able to keep better track of it this season.

message 416: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 897 comments Finished my 4th book. I have a 3 day weekend, and while I unfortunately need to work, I do have time to read something shorter if we need it. It looks like we have plenty to choose from if folks finish even part of what they signed up for, but let me know if you want me to find something specific. Otherwise, I'll probably read one for fun and then start a longer one to finish in June.

Kerri (kerrimcbooknerd) | 1200 comments I've finally finished The Atlas Six! Was a good read, but it was a bit denser than I was anticipating. In that there was a lot of rambling bits that I probably should have just skimmed 😂 Still, an overall enjoyable read! I'll get it updated right now.

message 419: by Vian (new)

Vian (vianvamp) | 363 comments I just returned a stack of books to the library and came out with Traveling Cat Chronicles, so I think it was a win.
I'm just coming out of a major reading slump so I'm still a bit slow in my reading pace. I want to check out all the books, but I'm making myself wait.

I hope everyone has a successful reading weekend.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments I worked on Firestarter last night and finished this morning. It covers letters for O, I, N, C, A, R, and random ones we need.

In good spirits and look forward to getting some housework and more reading done today. Right now first cup of coffee for the day and have The Good Wife on again. About to turn on Jaws, my robot vacuum cleaner.

How nice so many are you are enjoying the beach!! Sounds blissful right now! It is hot here but I'm not at the beach LOL

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments I'm going to be trying (I've tried this before and semi-failed) to add in a short story most days to get some large anthologies finished on the side. Started with a re-read of Skeleton Crew by Stephen King. Have four anthologies set aside for the challenge, hopefully I get through at least 1-2 of them. I can't binge read short stories, although I do enjoy them

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 1359 comments Good job everyone getting the Mini Challenge completed. I have spent the day updating all my other challenges as it is the end of the month. I'm also trying to finish up the books I started this week and the end of last week. I have a couple of books for my challenges that I haven't even started yet LOL

I see the Maze is up with the first task. I haven't put in any input, I just have been lurking.

I will get the SS updated with everything I get completed soon. I hope you all had a great Sunday!!!
