The real update of letters needed:3x P (getting from the backroom BOM!)
2x R, T, N
1x I, E, O, C, L
Plus 2 outstanding claimed tasks gives us 16 tasks to go.
[My brain is utterly in vacation mode, and I just double checked things and fixed some mistakes. Oops.]
I'm reading Common Magick: Origins and Practices of British Folk Magick which would work for CI'm also reading Cabinet Jack which could wrk for E for the Character Ellie Jordon
Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* wrote: "I love cozy mysteries when the mood strikes."Me too! Quick and easy reads.
My next books (both audios)An Ordinary Life - O
The Illness Lesson - I
Will also have the Backroom BOM finished over the weekend.
I need to get back to the backroom BOM. It is good but need to read more of it. Will aim to have finished by the weekend.

Sorry Vicky. I'm busted : ) caught redhanded LOL

I'll be finishing up The A.B.C. Murders tonight or tomorrow which should definitely cover a few of the letters that haven't been finished up. I'll make sure to take note of character names as I go, but I know for a fact there's a Carmichael. I'll make sure to mark them in the sheet when I update it!
I was on track to finish another book by the end of the day, but now I'm getting pulled to another department where they don't like my Bluetooth hearing protection. Stupid work getting in the way of my plans! lol

I just ended a staff meeting and going to do some audio while working.
I was just looking at the maze and I might need some help, lol. Otherwise, I just started a new audiobook that has a P and some vowels.
Hi everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome onto the team! I live in Oregon in the US and I work in the school system. This is my first year working at a school and I've loved it, but I'm ready for summer...
I signed up for 4 books a month because I figured I may be busy with end of school year things. I will read more after June 17th and can have some reserve books if needed.
Vian wrote: "I was just looking at the maze and I might need some help, lol."The maze is a lot! haha If you have any specific questions, ask them over in the questions thread of the Mythics group - don't want our strategy getting out in the wild! ;)
Are we able to read the BOM early? Or do we have to wait to the start Date? (Sorry, I"m sure I ask this each time)
Looks like we'll finish the May mini today or tomorrow. I was wondering, in light of the book penalty, will longer books replace shorter books in the mini in case we find ourselves dropping books at the end to prevent the overreading penalty? Related, does the June mini start on the 1st of June or just the maze? I'm just planning a few books and trying to determine if there's anything to be gained by finishing them this month versus saving them for the June mini (since maze books have to be started after June 1)

I highly doubt we'll go over. I know others have worried on that too, but it's pretty generous and the captains can warn us toward end of challenge if we are going too far over. It's still very early on. I saw in other threads reassurances to just forget about this worry. People are slowing their reading over these concerns, since we started worrying about it we are also dropping. It's mainly for the teams where several members drastically over-read what they signed up their numbers to be.
For the maze they discuss the strategy of the book sizes in the secret group on ideas on how everyone wants to handle.
Like Erin said, don't worry about the cap at this point! We're currently at 98% of the cap for this exact time in the challenge and we can read up to 109% before we get penalized. If we have to do any type of overflow swapping to get bigger books in for more points, we'll likely be doing it closer to the end of the challenge.
For some reason struggling a bit with my Firestarter re-read, halfway through. It has been years and I was excited on the re-read, but I guess it's my mood. I started Omens last night and made decent head way. It is strange but good. Finished the Perry Mason I was working on and updated the spreadsheet this morning. Not big page points for that one but several letters for spell it out. I added several more planned books later that I may get to during challenge - keeping getting in the mood for new series and did new purchases, so as always my planning always changes by mood and opportunities!
I just finished the backroom BOM. I’ll get questions updated tomorrow. It was better than I expected. Which is a good thing for these books.
I’m reading Wildfire but can’t seem to access the BOM thread about it. It says I’m not authorized. Can someone assist?
Jenn wrote: "I’m reading Wildfire but can’t seem to access the BOM thread about it. It says I’m not authorized. Can someone assist?"You will need to join the Backroom group https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... it’s restricted to over 18s
Annalisa wrote: "I just finished the backroom BOM. I’ll get questions updated tomorrow. It was better than I expected. Which is a good thing for these books."I just finished Wildfire and I have to agree. It was a lot better than I was anticipating. I had a great time reading it.
I'll get the spreadsheet updated in a moment! Preparing for another day out with the family. I also finished The A.B.C. Murders, so I'll have that updated, as well! I'm a few chapters away from finishing off The Atlas Six, so I should have that done by tonight :)
I'm reading The Travelling Cat Chronicles now as I just had that come in from the library. It has been on my TBR list for a long time. I'm also reading The Fifth Season and will probably try and focus on BOM and longer books. Otherwise I'm going to go way over what I said I would read. Looking back I know why I put 5 books a month (I wanted to focus on long books and cleaning my TBR shelf) but during past challenges I've read between 10 and 15 books a month (sometimes 20) so I really don't know why I went as low as I did.
This is the first team towers I've been in where teams didn't have to have their sheets updated every weekend. Have the rules changed on that? Impossible to tell ranking of teams until the very end of the challenge if teams are choosing not to update. I just got back from grocery shopping and am now looking for relax mode. 3 days weekend for me. Son and I watched the first four episodes of Stranger Things today and it was great.

Such a good show.

Currently some of my reads I'm not even including to TT because they are short NF books, short books of 100 pgs , or plays that I need for other challenges.
Summer season of the SRC is getting ready to start June 1 so I'm getting some books planned for those tasks. I'm excited for it to start : )
Not sure what I will be reading next. I made my weekly trip to the library and got some books I'm anxious to start BUT I need to red the library books that I already have checked out. Does anyone have that probably? I really should be reading my own tbr instead of going to the library. But I just don't have that much self control.
I hope you all are having a great Friday and have a relaxing weekend of great reading!!!!

It is! Based on how much we enjoyed these four, this is definitely our favorite season so far. They went strong with the horror roots with a lot of tributes to nightmare on elm street and even Halloween/Michael Myers. Robert Englund has a small cameo even.

What is SRC?
I'm making great progress on my current book and should have time for a shorter read if needed. I'll check, probably tomorrow, but let me know if there are any tasks that are still needed.

For The Sea theme I nominated Deep Storm, and for the genre Fiction I nominated Old Man's War. Hopefully they are good, I haven't read them yet but have both of them and they have good ratings.
Speaking of Lincoln Child, who wrote Deep Storm, maybe I should add some more Pendergast to the planning list of possible books to read on TT. I need to re-read some, and haven't read all I own, and they have good page counts. Hmmmm.
The TBR Pile is always growing!!

That makes me even more excited to watch! I'm a lover of old horror films and I love a good, creepy piece of media.
