Trinia | 2503 comments Oh no Vicky, 3 hours 😫 that is frustrating for sure, and sounds like something I would do 🤦🏼‍♀️ hoping you get some time back today.
I’m going through my to read list and should be able to get some letters. Will aim for longer books!

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 1359 comments Happy Funday Sunday!!!

It's a cloudy, rainy day here. Perfect for hanging out watching movies and reading : )

Oh no Vicky!!! I hope your day goes much better today than yesterday.

I finished an E book late last night. Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows It was a fun read.

Not sure what I will be starting/finishing today as I have a few on the go that I started earlier this week. Hope all of you have a great Sunday and I will check back in later!!!!

Cindy | 152 comments Sorry guys I am here still playing! I’ve gotten off to a slow start on my reading, having only finished one and will probably finish my second today or tomorrow. I have not had a chance to get on the spreadsheet but I will log my books today. I will be starting the traveling cat chronicles tomorrow and hopefully I don’t ball my eyes out

message 306: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 152 comments I have not read Circe but it is on my TBR so maybe I can read it for tower teams

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments I finished The Travelling Cat Chronicles today - although I suspected what was coming, I still definitely cried. A very good book.

I also read The Ghost Who Wore Yellow Socks, a smaller book we can keep on reserve if needed, but was in a romance mode last night.

If you can't access the spreadsheet you can post completions here. :)

message 309: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (engelsigh) | 1339 comments I finished The Trespasser which could work for A for Antoinette, C for Conway, T for Trespasser, R for Reilly, M for McCann

message 310: by Kerri (new)

Kerri (kerrimcbooknerd) | 1200 comments I adored Circe! It's what convinced me to give Song of Achilles a try and I loved that one, as well. Madeline Miller is swiftly becoming a go-to author.

Sorry I haven't been around much this weekend! I have family visiting and we have been busy enjoying the nice weather. I think we're probably gonna have a down day tomorrow and I'm hoping to catch up on a ton of reading. I did finish A Universe of Wishes but I unfortunately started that one before TT. Still, it was a great anthology!

I hope everyone had a great weekend :) @Vicky, I'm glad you were able to get back in! That really sucks!

message 311: by Louise (new)

Louise | 3331 comments You will be receiving an invite to a secret group to collaborate with other teams within our supergroup.

message 312: by Vicky (new)

Vicky (librovert) | 3137 comments Quiet day here today! I hope everyone is having a good one. I finished a pre-challenge book today, started a new audiobook, am still working on The Travelling Cat Chronicles (I'm *not* loving it, but I want the points!) and started the backroom BOM.

I'm off to the beach this weekend for memorial day, so I'm hoping to knock out some pages on the beach!

message 313: by Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (last edited May 23, 2022 04:44PM) (new)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments Beach reading sounds very relaxing.

I've had a busy day at work and am now doing the unwinding thing. I listened to some of The Guest List, and plan to do some reading later, but will be a lighter day for me overall.

Looks like we got 160 BOM participation for The Travelling Cat, which is awesome. It was sad and not something I would have sought out myself, but glad I read it. Never heard of it before this group.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments I'm definitely curious what the team private group will be about.

Trinia | 2503 comments Ooh! Interesting !🤓

message 316: by Louise (new)

Louise | 3331 comments Good morning all. Just catching up before I head into the office. Glad to see so many of you have checking to the private group. I think you’ll like the next challenge coming up we’ll have to work with our other Mythics to complete.

With Vicki we will end up with 180 BOM points for The Travelling Cat Chronicles which is a very strong start, there is still time to pick it up for points.

Started the Backroom BOM not something that would have crossed my radar but like Vicki, I want the points. I actually get annoyed with myself if I can’t do the BOM.

Hoping to finish The Unknown Beloved today and make progress on Wildfire

message 320: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 1359 comments I will be finishing up Omar Rising but I don't think I will be able to count it in TT.

Omar Rising by Aisha Saeed

ARBF doesn't have the word count for it. Amazon has the audio edition listed has being 4 hours 46 mins.

Are there other sources for getting word counts for books besides ARBF that are acceptable?

message 321: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 1359 comments I keep forgetting this weekend is a holiday weekend. Not that we have any big plans to do anything.

Vicky--A weekend trip to the beach sounds wonderful. I hope you get some peaceful reading time in. I find it hard to read at the beach, pool side etc lol I get distracted people watching.

I haven't read Circe either. If this makes sense, I liked learning about Greek Mythology in school, I am just not a fan of reading books about the Gods and Goddesses. So I continually keep putting this book off lol

Erin--How are you liking the The Guest List by Lucy Foley
I've had it on my radar for a while just haven't picked it up yet.

message 322: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 152 comments I’m hoping to get a couple more books finished this week, I have a few overnight shifts this week so I’ll be listening to audiobooks the whole time

I split time between reading the physical book and listening to the audiobook. The audiobook really is the way to go as it has a full cast. It's kinda like a behind the music episode where you have the writer interviewing all these players that made up the history of Opal & Nev.

Oh, that sounds like something I would love! I'm gonna have to check it out.

message 330: by Kerri (new)

Kerri (kerrimcbooknerd) | 1200 comments Hello, team! I've been busy this past week/weekend with my parents in town, but I'm plugging along with my reading. The Atlas Six gets better and better the deeper I get into it. I also finished Ghost Squad, but I was reading that pre-TT. Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

I might have to check out the Backroom BOM. I do have KU, after all, and I do love getting us more points, lol.

message 331: by Vicky (new)

Vicky (librovert) | 3137 comments Hey Team! This week isn't turning out to be a great week for me reading wise so far. I do a lot of audiobook listening at work and I've usually finished a book by now, but I'm doing some training this week and it's cutting into my time! LOL

Hoping to finish my current audiobook tomorrow and wrap up the BOMs over the weekend.

message 332: by [deleted user] (new)

I've finally wrapped up The Luminaries, it wasn't a great read for me. I found it really disjointed and hard to follow. Maybe easier if reading the physical book but I was overall not a big fan.

Still working on A Dance with Dragons, I have just over 15 hours left so will be done before the end of the month no problem.

message 333: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 897 comments Just finished the backroom BOM. I'll finish the DQs tomorrow. I will also finish the other book I'm reading which has lots of letter options, including E. Not sure I'll be able to do more than that.

message 334: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments @Kelsi- I agree with you about Luminaries being hard to follow! I listened to it on audio and probably zoned out thru a lot of important details… I think by the end though I was enjoying it, because I gave it 4 stars 🤣

I definitely missed some things due to listening while working so maybe not the books fault 😂

So far The Guest is going well. I haven't gotten to the murder part yet, and am early in.

Vicky (librovert) | 3137 comments Quick Mini Challenge Note: We still need 4x I (i) and 3x O so we definitely need to get some of those in if we can.

message 338: by Louise (new)

Louise | 3331 comments I can cover an O and an I

message 339: by Vicky (new)

Vicky (librovert) | 3137 comments I picked up a new quickie audiobook for O - my current one won't do us much good on the spell it out so I'll get back to it later.

I also picked up an I but I don't want to commit to both quite yet. I'll have a good amount of audio time at work today but tomorrow is kind of up on the air.

message 340: by Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (last edited May 25, 2022 06:41AM) (new)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments I need to finish Firestarter still - that has an O that will work for one of the characters. It also has an "I' for Irv.

My second read besides that planning to start and finish this week is "Omens" which counts for another O

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments I am assuming our Maze will be the one called Louise?

https://maze.meic.dev/maze/51/

All of it sounds very exciting. I love the mini challenges and this maze looks fun too.

message 342: by Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (last edited May 25, 2022 07:21AM) (new)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments It looks like books that are used for the Maze have be started after June 1st, which makes sense.

I just looked and we have seven days remaining in this particular stretch. I won't start any new books unless I finish the ones I am currently reading, currently reading a couple. Otherwise will work for general points but not the maze if needed if finished after, which works but not as ideally, so trying to keep track in case. I have seven I have started and am working on, but a few of them in the very beginning stages.

Right now we dropped in points quite a bit but fluctuation is normal, and one team does not have their books added yet, so we cannot tell yet if we are #8 or #9 right now currently, but it's only second week so still time to raise back up points wise.

🤣🤣 unfortunately that is my individual maze which I keep forgetting to update. Will post more info for everyone later and a general update.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments Ohhh okay lol

The maze sounds intense and good bonus points for whichever teams complete first. We will see - I'm excited! :) Looks like we also have a new mini to do next month as well so lots happening.

The maze looks interesting. With so many teams being involved in one supergroup, are there going to be more readers than tasks to complete? I'm curious to see how it's all going to play out. Lots of planning ahead. : )

I didn't see anything about a new mini for next month. But then again, you all are more familiar in where and what to look for LOL I saw in the maze rules that books used for the maze can't be used for any other mini challenge. Is that our clue lol ?

Yes, sort of, I spy on other threads LOL. I don't have behind the scenes captain info of course but notice things. Also the wording that if used for maze can't be used for mini in the announcements

message 349: by Louise (new)

Louise | 3331 comments Mini Challenge

We have a Supergroup Challenge starting June 1st
Minotaur Maze

Make sure to check in regularly to our Mythic group to make sure you don't miss important prompts. This will be a collaboration between the 3 Mythic teams to complete the Maze which runs for the remainder of TT.

There will be another Team Mini In June and I suspect July also.

Vicky (librovert) | 3137 comments Just did a quick update, so wanted to pop in with our updated letters needed:

3x P (we'll get these from the backroom BOM) and I
2x R, T, I (Robin is over here sneaking here book in JUST after I updated! LOL)
1x E, O, C, L, N

We have two claimed tasks outstanding (but both currently being read!), so only 17 books to go! :)

OKAY we're going to try this again in a few posts...
