Trinia | 2503 comments I too am watching the Maze but people are reading way faster! I'm hoping to day one of my 3 books I'm reading will help. If not, there's always our regular challenge.

Weekends are always less reading for me.. had a Ranger's game in Dallas and company over yesterday. Probably rude to pop open a book or my earbuds ;D LOL!

Hopefully I get some me time today :D

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments I usually do a majority of my reading on weekends depending, but have to take a lot of vacation hours off and on through work days this week since our fiscal year ends in June. I will be working, but in between hours off for vacation, so I'm hoping to get some extra reading in all week. We'll see.

That sounds like a fun time though, Trinia!

Trinia | 2503 comments I've got a question... I'm currently listening to Locke & Key by Joe Hill which only has an audiobook version. It's a performance audio based on a graphic book series but it's run time is 13 hours 23 minutes, which should fit our rules.
Captains, what do you think? Is it eligible?

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments Aw, neither of my nominations won for BOM for July.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments Sorry to be a pain on the spreadsheet again, Captains, but I see I have been reset currently to 0 BOM Points on our spreadsheet. Looks like something is wrong with my name (red error code) where it's entered on Captains sheet under BOM Tab.

Hey Trinia, not a captain but that's explained here in the rule if audio only version
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

◈ Audio books are allowed. (For page numbers, use the "default" GR book page numbers. If the "default" is a Large Print version, use the next most popular edition for page numbers.
If there is no print / ebook, then the audio book must be longer than 3 hours, and page numbers will be set at 100 pages, no matter how long the audio is)

Thanks E! I was mostly worried because the original series is a graphic book series. But only 100 pages, yuck!

Yeah, I'm not sure on the graphic book series thing!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments The Guest List seems like it's lasting forever, but made more progress on it today. Ready to move on honestly.

Resuming Wildfire. It's cute and not dragging so not sure on the procrastination I've had with that one.

Kerri (kerrimcbooknerd) | 1200 comments I finished The Book of Cold Cases! It was alright... an interesting thriller, but there were several moments where I found myself getting kind of bored. Still, it was a fast read and I ended up enjoying it.

@Erin - I haven't heard great things about The Guest List. I keep waffling on whether or not I want to read it because the premise sounds interesting, but I've had a number of people say the same thing you did.

Yeah, it's hard for me to stay that into. I did like The Hunting Party and this one has some similarities in story but it just doesn't catch me the right way for some reason.

All fixed

message 563: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments @Louise ~ Do you think Locke & Key will be eligible? It's a 13 hour audiobook "based" on an entire graphic novel series (7books?)

We can use it as the audio is more than 3 hours. Pages are set at 100.

It was used in perks UNO challenge which has the same book requirements for audios

Tati | 1350 comments Jenn wrote: "Hi Tati - on Kings Rising what is your read date? you have 4/6 in the spreadsheet and it looks like 6/9 on your shelf"

there was a typo in the spreadsheet, it's actually 5/6. The first read was 6/9/2016, but the second read was finished yesterday.

For me, it's showing the two read dates, can you see the both of them?

I heard that about it, that's one reason I didn't want to pay all the money for it. I did like her Sundown motel one.

Vicky (librovert) | 3137 comments Hey team, sorry it's been a few days since I checked in here. I got sick at work yesterday, came straight home and went to bed. I made it into work today but I was drained and exhausted all day. But I did get some audiobooking in!

I'm 94% done with Arsenic and Adobo, which I was hoping to fit in for a maze task but who knows with the direction our tasks seems to be going. LOL

I'm also just past the 50% mark on She Who Became the Sun which I'm enjoying but had some trouble getting into it at work today.

I do still want to give The Sun Down Motel a try. Maybe I'll enjoy that one more!

message 580: by [deleted user] (new)

I just added This is Where I Leave You to the spreadsheet, I'm not sure where to mark that it was used for the maze too? It was used yesterday for task 31.

Louise | 3331 comments Good morning all. I’m back home and my reading is back on track. Made some progress on The Book of Cold Cases and started The Illness Lesson on audio which I should have finished today. Then going to start The Night Circus on audio. I’ve also started Murder at Irish Mensa for another challenge which will take me a day or two.

@Vicky hope you’re feeling better soon.

BOM Mod takeover The Master and Margarita starts today. I have this on audio and kindle so will likely flip between the two.

As you may have noticed maze prompts are being posted here. If you are close to finishing a book that meets the prompt do head over to our maze thread.

Task: Read a book shelved (listed on the first page on GR) as england - plurals and spelling acceptable

Direction*
East (Even Number of Pages)
South (Title starts with N-Z)

message 585: by Jax (new)

Jax (jaxn) | 286 comments Currently maze is stuck on a book with "have a kitten" in it. (Craziest prompt I've seen)

I did see a book in the madness of maze called Legends & Lattes and tucked it into the back of my mind. Saw it and Barnes and Noble and I made a comment to the person I was with. It's now sitting in the kitchen to be read. Not sure adding to my TBR is a good thing but here we are.

Otherwise, slow rolling through my 2 books and have a stack of library books to pick up. Hoping we get the June mini soon!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments Yes, I am excited on the mini.

I have a few I haven't finished yet for the Maze, just in case.

I want to start some others soon for it - and if they are not used for Maze, will be available for points.

Louise | 3331 comments We are a quarter of the way through the challenge and are doing well.

There is still time to participate in the BOM for The Travelling Cat Chronicles you have until 6/16 to answer 3 days of DQs for the BOM points.

Don't forget to keep checking the maze thread to see if you're book fits the prompts. We will be posting prompts in the thread also.

message 591: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 152 comments Hello all, I am feeling better and my symptoms are almost gone. I return to work tomorrow. Unfortunately my baby did get it too so I didn’t get as much reading in as I thought. I was able to finish 1 smaller book that I need to log and I started reading The Goldfinch so it’ll take me a little while to get through that. I haven’t been able to contribute anything to the maze, so sorry about that. I didn’t know that I was still able to answer questions for The Travelling Cat Chronicles so when I have time to get on my computer I will answer those questions and link posts so we can get those extra points

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments Happy you are feeling better, Cindy!

Jenn (engelsigh) | 1339 comments Hi Robin. Can you please add Harlem Shuffle to your TT shelf?

message 594: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 897 comments Glad you are better, Cindy. So sorry to hear about your baby getting sick too. I'm about 75% of the way through the Goldfinch, I can't wait to hear what you think. So far I mostly like it but I'm not sure it was what I expected. I do understand how the real painting has become so popular after this book, though.

Trinia | 2503 comments Hey gang!

I have been helping out with the maze and have a load of books to add to the spreadsheet. I am out for the night but will get them added tomorrow.

The Maze is still moving along and hitting walls unfortunately. Right now they have this task:

Move #70
Task: Read a book that starts with the letter M

Direction:
East (Even Number of Pages)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments I really wish Goodreads would stop going down the past 2 weeks. It's really old.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6535 comments Our team score has temporarily dropped decently - but I know a few are holding off on finishing books for the maze, me included.

I'm excited to see the new Mini tasks later also when they are announced.

The Trojans placed first place with the maze today, now it's down to us Mythics Vs Aegeans. Overall the maze has been a LOT of fun, surprised it wrapped up so quickly but it's turning out about right so it doesn't overlay other parts of the challenge, so that works too. First time I've done a maze (NOT that I was able to help out much), but it's been active, fun to strategize and keep checking in. I love that kind of stuff - it was fun and rushed, but not stressful rushed (like my memories of Quidditch!)
