Finished Night Film and loved it. Plus I finished a big project with a deadline for work. Now I should be able to help with the maze, maybe. Some of you read crazy fast.
Jax
I got signed up for SRC. Looks like a lot of fun and as some of you mentioned I also have a problem with going down the rabbit hole of planning out my reading.

Yay!!!! I hope you enjoy the SRC as much as I do : ) I'm not a planner of my reading with the exception being the SRC. It's because those tasks and the moderating is so strict, I like to have time to find something else in case something I planned didn't work. Plus side is that you can ask in advance if something will work LOL Be safe in the storm and stay indoors. Enjoy your reading : )

I’ve started The Book of Cold Cases as that is an author I enjoy!!! The hold list is LONG at the library so I'm just waiting patiently for the popularity to slow down.

Oh no!!! I hope you get to feeling better soon : ) and that it's just a mild case.

Logged a book finished for maze just now on our tracking sheet. Did not see a spot in there to indicate it was for the maze, so just giving a head's up here - it was the Beauty one finished today.
Stacey
Wow, Maze goes too fast for me. I think I will stay out of planning unless I'm reading something that works right at that time and focus on longer books instead.
Vicky
@Jenn - I think we put an M in the same box we used for the numbers from the mini challenge? I think it says something in the maze rules. I'm waiting in line at the deli or I'd check!
Jenn
Ok, I put the M there. I'm not at a place where I can double check right now either. I updated all the books that were currently marked read on the spreadsheet except Trinia's with the date question.

That sucks, Cindy. I hope you feel better soon and that the rest of your family manage to avoid it!

Anyone working on a 500+ page kindle book that they are close to finishing, started after June 1st, and has an odd number of pages? You don't have to read the kindle version, but the kindle version has to be over 500

I see Beauty, the book I read earlier for the maze, has been added but does not have the Maze code and looks like we have 5 points for maze from Jax's book, should read 10 if mine is logged as a maze book. Maybe that would be added later, not sure if it was missed.

We have a handful of people signed up for DQs for both upcoming BOMs, but definitely sign up soon if you want to give us more chances at them!
Mini Challenges: Rumor has it we'll see another team mini midway through the month, but for now we're focusing on the supergroup Maze. I've seen quite a few of us over there, but if you haven't checked it out please do!
Challenge Stats: We're currently in 3rd and we're only 240 points behind the lead team!
Book Points: 5036 (3rd Place) BOM Points: 320 (2nd Place! Great job on this!) Total Points: 5881
Books Read: 146 Pages Read: 50,420
We're the highest in books read, 15 ahead of the next team and we're at 107% of the cap. I know we've said it quite a few times that we're not worried about this - the number is likely to fluctuate and we still have plenty of time in the challenge before it becomes an issue - and that still stands. But this lull in mini challenge action is a great time to pick up some chunky books because we aren't worried about squeezing in all the tasks, we'll definitely want to save some room for quick books for future minis.
Again, not a requirement, but if you've been sitting on a chunky book for a while and need the motivation to read it - now is the time! :)
[In case anyone is interested in the nerdy numerical stuff like me, we're currently reading an average of 345 pages per book while the challenge as a whole is reading an average of 402 pages per book.]
Vicky
I'm currently listening to Dirty, which I should finish today. I want to sit down and try to get through Wildfire and The Book of Cold Cases this weekend, but I'm also not feeling like sitting down and reading. I got some vegetable plants I need to get into some pots and some other around the house chores to get to, so we'll see how the day goes.
I think I'll start the audiobook of She Who Became the Sun next - I've been defaulting to romances because I've been starting books at work and I have a hard time getting into fantasy worlds when I start at work. Hopefully if I start it at home I'll be far enough into it that listening at work won't be a problem - it's just getting over that initial worldbuilding hump! I'm also thinking about Warbreaker, but I have a bunch of audiobooks out on Libby right now and I own Warbreaker on Audible... why are there so many decisions that have to be made about books? LOL

Thank you for all the stats - I find them fascinating. I have a book spreadsheet and love tracking things in general. It looks like other teams have doing similar, as I see some updates today on books read, a few state they are currently underreading volume (not points). With us it seems we are not dangerously overreading but doing a lot of volume, but the page point difference is catching up. Sometimes this can even out thankfully as bigger books come in also. We have been doing so great with BOM points, which makes a difference too.
My volume of completion is less this week, I believe, but I have been reading some different books, most of them larger page counts, and some smaller as I tend to do. I'm hoping to get a lot of reading done this weekend along with some housework, TV, and chill time (as is usual for most of my weekends). I did go out with friends last night and that was fun. It looks like it may be a rainy weekend so that is also great :)
The maze is fun, I have only been able to do one, but hoping to catch some that I can finish quickly when possible.
Stacey
I signed up for 7 books, my goal is that all of them are above 400 pages unless they are a BOM. I'm trying for higher, but it will vary.
Any chance we will have another Backroom BOM in June? With 3 others it is unlikely, but there is often a lot of folks asking for one. (Anything for the points....)

So annoying. My mom calls me early today saying they all want to go eat at Texas Roadhouse and get me craving a salad. Said we'll leave at five. I don't eat so I can have plenty of appetite, and didn't set anything up for dinner. Then they call at 4 and cancel saying they don't feel like it anymore. Now I'm starving >:(
My son borrowed my car for the day, so I was depending on going with them to go out this evening. Ack. Have to figure out food now.
Thanks for all the stats! Like you I like all the numerical stuff : ) Unfortunately I don't have many "chunksters" on my TBR. If anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears. I've been contemplating rereading Gone with the Wind. I think I will start and read it between other books.
I've started some medication AGAIN that I've been off of for quite some time. :( I already knew going in that it was going to make me feel weird....fuzzy headed, dizzy, drowsy. All this craziness will subside once the meds get in my system. It normally takes about a week. So, I'm not sure how much reading I will get done in the next week. Hopefully I can get through the ones I have already got started.
Like most of you, I have some everyday housework to get done so I will be listening to some audiobooks today. I have several out on Overdrive.
Currently I have these started:
I hope all of you have a great Saturday. I'm going to check in my other challenges,do some updating and then off to do chores and read. I will check back in later : )
Louise
Thank you Vicky for posting the weekly update. We’ve spent a lovely if exhausting day in Camden today. Going to try and make some headway on The Book of Cold Cases before bed. We have another busy day ahead tomorrow with a visit to London Zoo and Regent’s Park.
Kerri
I'll have to take a look through my bigger books to see what I might be able to squeeze in. I'm currently reading Daughter of the Moon Goddess and really enjoying it! The audiobook is fantastic. I'm working this weekend, so I've been enjoying the audiobook while I'm working. It certainly makes the day go faster.
Now I'm off to go catch up on The Book of Cold Cases before D&D tonight. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
@Louise - I'm glad you're having a good time :)
@Robin - I hope you feel better from the new meds soon!
I noticed that the next book from the Ice Planet Barbarian world was published today. So I’m pausing other reads unless they fit maze to read that next.
I’ve got holds on the two BOMs but am not sure I can get the mod take over book. My library didn’t have an e copy.
Robin (Saturndoo)
I was able to catch another Task for the Maze. I got it posted to the spreadsheet. It wasn't a book I had planned to read, but it will work for several of my other challenges most importantly the SRC lol. Now I will be go back to the other books I've got started : )
@ Erin and Kerri thank you : ) I have taken these meds before so I know what to expect. In a few days I will be adjusted to them and everything will be good. The first few days are just a little rough. So if you see a lot of typing mistakes or something that doesn't make a lot sense, just IGNORE it LOL
@ Louise as always, it's nice to see you but enjoy your weekend!!! Lucky you, I love going to a zoo. Have lots of fun there. Giraffes and elephants are always my favorite : )
@Annalisa thank you!! I'm hanging in there. I looked at the BOMs but all of them have long hold lists, but I will keep watching to see if the wait list changes.
@Kelsi WTG finishing 2 books. I have had 11/22/63 on my TBR for a long time. Would love to hear what you think about it.
I think it's time for me to go rest and settle down with a book. I hope you all get some great sleep with sweet dreams. Will check in with you all tomorrow : )
Jax
Our family was putting together a puzzle and started listening to AN Elderly Lady is Up to No Good and turns it could be used for the maze and it was a fast audio book. So that was fun.
Also interested in 11/22/63. It's been sitting on the shelf and I think it's about time.
Louise
Don’t forget to answer 3 days worth of DQs if you read a BOM and either link them here or on the spreadsheet. This will net us an extra 20 points.

Also inter..." Did you like An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good? I've been looking at it.
11/22/63 is good. Hope you enjoy it. It's a very different book for him, but very well done.
Vicky
Don't feel bad! A lot of us are in the same boat, the maze is kind of chaotic. Keep an eye on it in case something pops up that works - but otherwise keep reading for page points. There will be other less chaotic mini challenges coming!
Jax
An Elderly Lady was delightful and quirky. it is also one of the group reads for SRC. it's a 3 hour audio book and would fulfill the current book needed for maze I believe
KerriCelia wrote: "I feel bad that I haven't been able to add anything to the maze yet."
Don't feel bad, Celia! I haven't contributed to the maze either, but I figured that might be the case. I'm a slower reader. I'm keeping an eye on the threads, though, just in case!
StaceyCelia wrote: "I feel bad that I haven't been able to add anything to the maze yet."
I'm with you, but don't feel bad. I almost got one. I read slower and with longer books it is even trickier. Hopefully there will be a great prompt for you just when you are finishing one. If not, it is only one small part of the challenge.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I have only two weeks of school left until summer and this week is my last week working with students. I think it will be a little sad but I'm also ready for a break.
Annalisa
I finished Much Ado About Dukes. I was really hoping that it would work for the maze but I decided to finish it tonight. It was a NetGalley and I needed to get the review in before the work week started. Otherwise I would have put off finishing for longer. It had the potential to be good but the editing was not great.
I started reading an unplanned book yesterday for the maze - we've since gone a few past there, but still wrapping up the book, it's good and over 500 page count, should be done today.
Been doing pretty well with Skeleton Crew Anthology plan also, hoping to have that done this week.
I still am being awful and working on Wildfire and Omens (halfway through the second, it's gotten better). Also still working on The Guest List with audio.
I have to read a book this week that is called The Baby Shower because it's my in-person book club discussion next Tuesday. It's 339 pages and looks cheesy but like a fast read.
Now that I finished 'The Devil You Know' this weekend, starting on the second soon. There are five books in the series total and has good page counts. Have some others to also start as well since I book juggle and most of them are good page count.
