I swear I've read this already. Not positive but it seems familiar. It could be the because it had the typical Mary Calmes MCs. I really loved both of these guys and the supporting cast. Interesting story line that kept me reading way too late so I call that a win. A murder, a bad guy, a badder guy and the guy everyone just adores. Good comfort read.

Well, HELL! I did NOT see any of that coming! OK, the whole switching bodies thing was a bit OTT, not to mention my brain completely let me down with the "who is which body" thing... but the rest? That just blew my mind!
I think we have a better understanding of Flynn now, and I can see how each of them walking in each other's shoes (as it were) answered a lot of questions for us and also for Flynn and Jerry aka "Lee"! *grin*
I have already placed Truth and Consequences into my reading schedule for June and trust me when I say it will be read sooner rather than later!

I am not really sure why I dont gel with this series as I like Amy Lane and also like magic books. The coven just seem to be languishing trying to prevent an even bigger problem.
A short book took a long time to read.

I didn't gel as much with these two MCs as I had with PP's earlier series 'Cold Case Psychic'. And whilst I realised that this was a cross over series, I think it crossed over well after the point I was up to in the CCP series (or its spin off). Unfortunately the CCP series are no longer released in audio, so I wouldn't have bridged that gap regardless, however there were a couple of spoilers in this story that occurred after the end of the audios :( Eg Tony Abrussi and some other characters that appear in the plot...
There's a lot more magic in this world now. A lot more 'other world' development. Just wish it was all in audio.
Maybe one day I will have the time to go back and read the later stories (book 7 onwards) in CCP - I love that series.
Narrated by Michael Pauley (Dean) - excellent.

Review:
Let me start by saying this was a new author for me and she appears to be well-loved by many of her readers. I will NOT be one of those readers. For some strange reason, I expect a book to be edited and proofread before I give it a 5-star rating, which this story was sadly lacking in proofreading. Case in point...
“Yeah!” Chase through an arm in the air.
Now, I could take the time to list the many other errors that I found like this one, but I have better things to do with my time.
As for the story itself? I will admit that a sports story is at the bottom of my "want to read" list, but as I needed this for a challenge I went into this one with an open mind thinking motorcycle racing should be interesting. I stand corrected! The MCs were so wishy-washy they could have mopped my floors with their indecision and seriously, why would both of them "think" they want a relationship and then continually "say" that it just wasn't something they could do right now... nevermind, I don't even want to go down that rabbit hole.
Now, let's talk about Chase, the "almost" savior of this book! He was written spot-on for a 6/7-year-old boy! I wish I could say that I felt his pain at his loss, but the author missed the mark on that one also. But, his enthusiasm for dirt bike racing was contagious and well-written. Thank you Ms. Michaels for that!
As always with books that failed for me, I will be giving it 3-stars because regardless of my thoughts, this author dedicated time, hard work, and the love of her art to this book and deserves to know that I appreciate that dedication.

The best thing I can say about this book is that it worked for 2 challenges! Score.
On to the book: the opening is really stunted. A line early on that one of the secondary characters asks MC Jason comes to mind: "What are you, 12?". That sums up most of the MCs' relationship. The MCs' reasoning is all over the place, they hold grudges and are really careless with their words & the other person's respect. At the end, their conversations are just plain sharp. I'd hate to be a friend of any of these characters. Being rude is not funny. Holding someone's mistakes to their face isn't gracious (MC Jason) and places the other person on a lower footing (MC Ryker). Urgh.
There wasn't much about this story that endeared it to me, so all up - it was ok (2 stars).
I notice that the book currently has an avg rating of 4.23 stars (after my team had rated it). I can only think that 'rabbit and all his friends and relations' jumped on to boost the book.

Haha - at least it knocked a book off for the Scav Hunt for me! And I now know that dirt bikes and their riders are not my cup of tea ;)
(I think if I'd been allowed to take the full month to read this, I would have really struggled to pick it back up. This way, I knocked it off in two sittings.)

I still haven't figured out if I can use it for SH, but I will say that this wasn't the worst book I have read this year, but it was dang close... 😭😭😭

Here is your next task!
Task 27 - 78. Read 6 books with alliteration in the title or author's name.
Books selected for this task need to have alliteration in either the title or the author's name. There can be a small word such as in or and between the alliterated words in the title. So books such as Spook Squad or Divided in Death would work. And authors like Lucy Lennox and Eli Easton would also work.

Well, I am not sure what is up with changing the name of the ranch because the author didn't change the name in the book or on the cover...
As for the story? I'm not crazy about how it ended, but since I am jumping right into Twilight's Touch I am feeling more forgiving! *grin*
This is a fluffy read with a bit of angst! We kinda come away with more questions than answers, but since I am moving right into book 2... so, more forgiving! *snort* LOL!!!
I get the feeling that this is a spin-off series, but I will have to go and give that a check. As for book 2, I haven't read the blurb, but I am assuming that I am going to get some answers... I had better get some dang answers!

I really enjoyed this story today. Its the second or third time I've read, but its been a quite a few years at least. (GR tells me I've only read it once back in 2013, but I know I've read at least once since then ~ maybe 4 or 5 years ago.) I was expecting a 3 star rating as I had last rated it 3 stars, but its a very solid 4 stars for me. Maybe I was just in the mood? And I do know these characters throughout the years of reading this series off and on.

Loved, loved these two. Liam was just such a hot freaking mess trying his very hardest and just getting nowhere fast. Garrett had given up finding what he needed in partner so was trying to be content living his life alone. How Garrett didn't realize he was a full on Daddy, I have no idea. He so was!! All the characters were amazing except the school faculty who were awful. Watching these two trying to figure out how they would work was just a joy to see. Really enjoyed this read.

Loved it. I believe Louisa M has just become an auto-buy author with the addition of this book to her list! She just keeps pumping out stuff that I love.
I love ghost stories with a bit of mystery (which they always have); the cast of characters in this book are just great and the 'friendly' ghost are diverse and adorable. Looking forward to book 2 which will hopefully also be released in audio soon after publication this month.

I'm remembering back to book one and how I really wasn't happy with how Nate and Bishop's story ended, but I thought I would get some answers in book 2... I was wrong! grrrr
Yes, Perry and Will have a wonderful lackluster relationship, but where are my Nate and Bishop details... the thieves? So many dang questions... and only a few answers.
NOW, I have to wait until who knows when to read book 3... Keeping fingers crossed that book 3 will come through for me!
