Roseanne Cute idea. Thanks for the invite Linda. How does this work? It looks like the books are for the little ones. Anything for the bigger kids?

message 11: by Linda (new)

Linda Mccall | 32 comments Mod
Welcome both! Yes, the books have been accidentally geared more for the little ones, but from now on we will have two books on the go. For Big ones and small ones :)

message 12: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne So if I want to share something I read that I thought was good where should I share that and would I start a new thread? I don't want to put something in the wrong place.

Hi Roseanne,

Thanks for this message :)

I've now set up a folder, called Recommended, where anyone can add books they've enjoyed reading! I will then add these books to our 'currently reading' list so we can all read, enjoy and share!

Same :) I tutor young children so any ideas to get them excited about literacy will be much appreciated :)

Danielle Carbonneau | 4 comments Hello! My name is Danielle and I love reading to my kids still!! They are 10 and 12, both boys, and they still love to be read to! They have so many reading requirements with school I like to give them a break and read to them while they are playing or just lounging! I'd love input and to also give suggestions!!

Hi Danielle, sounds like we're similar! I do the same for my girls (12 and 13).

Hope you start finding some recommendations here! and likewise, share with us your successes with your boys.

message 20: by Sam (new)

Sam Skinner (samskinner) | 1 comments Hello Linda and the group! I am the creator/author of the Bob Wire children's book series(age 4 to 12). I joined the group because I am an uncle, father, and grandfather who was raised in an atmosphere of books and reading to youngsters. I carried on the tradition, my mother instilled in me, with my kids, etc. I think reading to kids as early as you can is something every adult should undertake. As you all well know, it is great for the kids and a wonderful way for us to bond with them.
I love telling stories and wanted to expose my work to a small group. I picked you guys. You seem perfect. I am looking forward to participating in the group, especially the books for the little ones.
I have 3 books out now and 2 more at the publishers with more planned. Let's see what happens? Any and all comments are welcome.
Thanks ya'll!

Hi Sam! welcome to our group, you sound like the kind of member we all want with us :)

Hope you join in with some of our discussions, polls and recommendations! Or if not, find some nice books to add to your to-read-list.

Send me a direct message if you like, about your books and if you'd like to be under our author spotlight!

Take care

Linda

BC Dee (bcdee123) | 10 comments Hi everyone,

As the bookworm parent of a bookworm 3.5 year old, I'm always looking for good books that we can read together. Of course she loves picture books, but she also enjoys when I read her chapter books.

I'm looking forward to your recommendations.

N.B. for full disclosure: I am also a children's book author ( The Hiccupopotamus by B.C. Dee The Girl Who Drank the Moon a rhyming picture book by B.C. Dee ), but I'm here to participate as a parent.

Thanks for this recommendation Priscilla, will look out for it!

message 28: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (cynthiattoney) A great idea for a group! I am Cynthia T. Toney, an author and avid read of books for tweens and teens. I write to help the young ladies know how wonderflul and powerful they are! Right now, the first book of my series is only 99 cents through Aug. 19 on Amazon and Kobo. Clean read with hope and humor for tween or teen girls. Issues addressed in a delicate way: bullying, first crush, eating disorder, a suicide, and struggles within single-parent and two-parent families. Ends on a high note! Hope you take a look for the girls in your families. 8 Notes to a Nobody

message 29: by Patricia (new)
