Michaela I finished Aesop´s Fables or rather a collection of them in German, and read about half of All Creatures Great and Small. Will probably finish this in May.

Lynn (lynnsreads) | 164 comments I am not really sure where to put a review so I put it on my challenge post and here both.

A Strayed Allegiance is a short story by Lucy Maud Montgomery. I have only read the first two Anne books so far. My mother gave me her hardback set of the books when I was a child. I still have them. I like Montgomery and have been sampling some of her short stories. Most were written before she started writing novels. I gave it 4*. The youngsters today (lol) really seem to dislike it. I thought it was a nice period piece with a touch of melodrama. The heroine absolutely does not act like a modern woman. More power to her.

Hi Chad,
I went back and looked at that book. I remember reading it but not exactly what it was about. I wrote a review that might lead to some other readings, since you enjoyed that book so much.

Would love to discuss it if you would like.

Lynn (lynnsreads) | 164 comments I am reading 19th Century Short Stories for a challenge in another group. An Imaginative Woman by: Thomas Hardy Wow! Wow! What an intense story. It will take a while to work through the feelings this story produced. It is of course intense, full of unhappiness, and an injustice done to a child. It is Thomas Hardy.

I really like Hardy's books. Thanks for the heads up on this one. I will look it up in the collection that I have of his.

Jazzy are there limits to page numbers for challenges here?

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) | 1053 comments Well I said no limits earlier, i think making the effort to read at all is a worthwhile achievement!

Personally I think that is fantastic!! I think people skipping over a story because it didn't fit a page count would be athame. Kinda like an author putting in a lot more words than necessary to fill a word count (page count). I know there were times when a book was too much for me and I thought a short story beneath me....so I didn't read. It would have improved me if I had read at all. I was a non reader till I turned 21. Then I decided I didn't have to accept that title I could turn it around and become a well read person...by picking good books.
