Hmn, that's a good guess, but I only recall the POV of the one guy. And it didn't involve actual time travel.

Was the Civil War reenactment only one short scene, or did most of the story revolve around it?How did he suddenly find himself there? Was it magic?
No, it was a pretty big chunk of it.I don't quite remember; don't think there was magic involved or implied at all.
It was definitely a movie set and not a reenactment that groups of people do for fun as a hobby?
Yes, it turned out to be a movie. There were squibs and hidden mics and everything.He got freaked out though because it looked very realistic.

Not till the very end. The effects were so good, he really believed that he had arrived in the middle of the battle. I think he believed it was time travel? Or that he thought he was dreaming but it was actually real based on the sights and sounds?
Don't remember much. It could be he was in his early teens.

The book I am thinking of is Young Adult Fiction about a pre-teen/teen guy who suddenly finds himself in the middle of a Civil War battle (he thinks it is either a time travel or a dream) - but it is an elaborate film set.
I believe it is part of a series or maybe an anthology series, and I read it in 2004. May or may not have included some chapter header illustrations.
I hope it is enough!
