Lais | 38 comments I'm looking for romance books with really great groveling from the hero. Doesn't need to be the whole book but I want epic grovel scenes at the climax. I want the heroine to give him the silent treatment, withdraw into herself, flee the country, or all of the above. I want grand gestures and heartfelt apologies.

I have read -and really enjoyed - The Unwanted Wife (and the second one, but I liked it less).

Also, it can be books where the groveling itself is not awesome, but where the male main character really suffers (like worst mistake of his life, stomach dropping, realizing his life is not worth living without her) when he realizes he effed up.

Julia Abdel | 36 comments I enjoy a good grovel as well. One of the best grovels is in ‘A White Picket Fence’ by Laura Branchflower BUT
SPOILER ALERT

This book isn’t for everyone. The reason the H grovels is because he cheated on his wive and had a several months long had affair which resulted in a pregnancy and subsequently child. He regrets it deeply and fights to win back his wife but if the cheating trope is a hard no for you you should pass.

I don't think I would mind the cheating by itself (if written right) but the pregnancy thing is a bit much for me.

Thanks for the recommendation though

However, this is part of a series, and you'd really need to read at least part of the rest of the series, starting with The Warrior's Apprentice, to know what's going on. The Warrior's Apprentice
