SOLVED. YA Fantasy. A man makes people small and keeps them in a snowglobe (I think!). [s]

I can't remember the full details - but the main premise is there's a slightly weird/ loner man who builds miniature models or snowglobes. He finds a way to shrink people too and for some reason he does this to a woman he loves who isn't interested in him and her boyfriend. The now tiny woman and man then (again, I think) have a baby while they're tiny and stuck in one of his snow globes.

Also at one point I think they call him a "Sick freak" or something along those lines by writing it in the snow globe, and he sees it through a microscope and shakes it up or something.

I must've read this when I was a pre-teen so I'm guessing it's YA fiction, I could be wrong though. Read around the years 1999-2006 I'd say
