So my Dad remembers there was a book, or maybe a series of books, that had a circled letter A printed on the title pages. He thought that they were the first edition Robert Heinlein's from Scribner's but he checked all the copies he had and it wasn't in them. It's one of those things that's going to bug us if we don't figure it out. Thanks for your help!

Was it just an A or was it part of a word? Just on the title pages or also on cover? Was it part of the title?
Was it a capital A or lowercase a? Wondering if it could be a book publisher.shorturl.at/rIU13

I've got a bunch of old science fiction paperbacks published by Avon. They don't have a circled A, though; the logo is a stylized A that looks a little like the recycle symbol: https://i.redd.it/b5gdt6um4ro01.jpg (top left)
Emma, when did he read these books (what year)? Does he recall where on the page the A appeared (e.g., the top margin, right below the title, at the bottom above the publisher's name)? Does he recall anything else about how the A looked -- anything about the font, or the size, or the design? Was the circle nice and neat, or more like a scribbled/hand-drawn style?
okay, he thinks it was a capital A, circled nearly, and it was on the copyright page(s), with the rest of the copyright information. It was a single letter A, it was not a part of a word. He probably read it in the 70s, but could have been anywhere between 60s and 80s.
Abrams publish SF including a bunch of Star Wars stuffTheir logo is on their homepage, white "A" on red circle.
