He nodded, his face a mask. I hate mind readers.

Ian smirked slightly at that thought.

Emma looked at Alberon. I'd have fun reading his mind. Or maybe not.. Hm..

Alberon shot him a look, and thought, very deliberately, Wipe that smirk off your face and get out of my head.

Emma blinked at him.

Katava was pacing now and trying not to panic. ]Maybe if I had gotten here faster. Or if I had just come with him. Or if I had tried harder to stop him. But then where would Connor be? We can't win, no matter what. The Mori name is doomed.

"Habit." He said to Alberta, glancing at Katava then with a frown.

"Too bad."

Alberon was on edge.

"Look. I'll try not to. no promises." He said, rolling his eyes.

"Don't." He turned back to Emma.

Katava glanced at Ian.

Emma offered a sympathetic smile. "Let's not fight right now."

Emma smirked at Alberon before turning to Ian. "We need him awake if you can read his mind."

"would be better if he couldn't get away."

JJ began to stir.

"Kat, put a ring of fire around him."

Katava did what she was told.

Emma looked at Ian. "Good?"

Ian shrugged. "Works for me."

Kat sat back down a few feet away from everyone.

"He can still use his power," Alberon pointed out.

JJ blinked. It seemed excessively bright.

Emma frowned. "Then work fast Ian."

JJ sat up, mumbling a curse.

[Elizabeth]

"Ask him what you want to know. all I'll get now is current thoughts."

Alberon watched impassively.

"We need to know his weakness." Emma explained.

JJ forced himself to stand.

"Well ask him stuff and I'll read his mind then."

Vines came up and wrapped around Ian. "You'll stay well enough out of my mind, thank you very much."

"Why? Scared we already know? An unconscious mind says a whole lot of secrets, JJ Thomson.." Emma said in a rather strong voice. He doesn't have to know we don't know. He just needs to get thinking.

"Then why bother waiting for me to wake up?"

Ian cursed as the vines wrapped around him but he didn't struggle, focusing on reading JJs mind now.

"We don't want to kill you. Or at least, not yet."

The vines began dragging Ian toward the fire. "Because you didn't get what you wanted. And I don't intend that you should."

"We know you hate your sister. Why?" she continued.

"She tried to kill me, in all fairness."

"Well there must have been a reason, yea?"

"You know, I think I'd be a lot more inclined to answer if you lot put out the fire." The real answer wasn't really a secret though; it was really just that she didn't like what he was doing. He'd never been the best brother.

The vines had just about dragged Ian all the way into the fire.

Emma glanced at Alberon.

"For some reason, I don't think you would," Alberon muttered wryly.

JJ chuckled at that.

Ian had began to struggle as he was pulled towards the fire, still trying to see what he could get from JJ's mind at the same time.

Scarlett walked up, knife in hand.

Ian was pulled into the fire. JJ was focused on getting out of the current situation.

[Elizabeth]

Ian gasped when he was pulled into the fire, fighting harder to get out of the vines.

Scarlett broke into a run when she saw what was happening. "Hey there Joseph." She said, trying to distract her brother and hopefully get him to let the guy go.

He smiled. "Sounds like if you really want to know what happened with my sister, you have a primary source just arrived."
