I hate that now there’s an option to select your top friends!

I've been hating that all morning. And guess what... If you don't choose your top friends, Goodreads will do it for you. That is bullsh. I don't want top friends, you goodreads assholes! This is not freaking MYSPACE!!!!!!
What does it mean? How many "top friends" can you have? Currently everyone is checked, so I just left it that way...
Morning tracy, Thank you for the Mario Kart Master thing =P. but now i feel kind of bad... I already deleted 2 peope!!!! omg!!! I'm going myspace on goodreads!!!! why jebus why???
I must dissent. There are some people in between the category of strictly deletable (a.k.a. dead weight) and very, very interesting (a.k.a. top friends). These middlers are friends, but not tops. (Tops? Bottoms? Where am I going with this?) I don't want to read their reviews of children's books or know that they are adding Fannie Flagg to their "To-Read" folder.
(Gerts & Amy, you of course are pre-approved top friends. The rest of you I don't know from Adam.)

(Donald, you are tops, too, although occasionally full of complete and utter shit.)
i do too. but what i hate worse is how mine doesn't even work. i unchecked some people so that others had top billing and then it just kept the same old line up.
Shelly, you have to click "Save Changes" on the bottom of each friends page. Thankfully, you and I are blood enemies, so I don't have to worry about what to do with you... ; )
Donald, right back at ya.

David-- I did that. But when I "view profile" it's the same faces on the right even if they are unchecked under the "friends" tab.I dunno, I appreciate your help but maybe I shouldn't be taking advice from a blood enemy. Who knows what your motives are?
Then again you know what they say--"keep your friends close..."
What is it? I saw it this morning, but I don't know what it is. Care to enlighten me? Or do you want to just leave me in the dark?
Shelly, it won't change the faces on the right. It'll only change who appears on your update page. (Even Hitler and Stalin got along for a little while. Seriously, you're okay by me. For a Texan. And don't besmirch my Hoosierness.)
Seth, HA and I did put u on mine!!!! ps: you see what this is doing to us?, we already using it as a weapon!!! omg Goodreads drama!
I get David's point though. There have been a couple of people that I thought I would give a chance as a "friend", but deleted them in a day due to extreme, excessive, children's book adding! It filled up my update page and irritated me! Now if I could have kept them from bunging up my page, I might have kept them long enough to find out if they were any fun or brilliant or whatever. It might be really helpful in the future. As of now, everyone on my list I'd like to hear what they have to say, add, etc...
Thanks D! :)
Thanks D! :)
It helps if you don't have many friends...I mean who is my top 5 when I only have three friends? How the internet reflects true life.
I like the top friends feature. I voted for it in the Feedback group. I like it because there are some people whose updates I don't care to get on my home page, but I still want to be friends with them. Now my top friends are people whose reviews I enjoy reading, or people who add interesting books, or people whose comments I want to see. Some of my friends add a lot of Dr. Seuss or fluff books and I don't want to see those updates. So they got "unchecked."
