I finished the book! I had a lot of fun with this story, but the more I think about it the more I'm a bit conflicted (and disappointed). I'm excited to see what everyone thinks, though!!!

i'm not usually a fan of sci-fi but i'm going to give this a try. It may be later in the month, though. I'm on the wait list at my library so I'm going to see how fast that moves along before I buy it.
I bit the bullet and bought this on Amazon. It was so good I binge read it. It's excellent space horror - S. A. Barnes uses a lot of themes from other movies and books, blending them all together to create something new, entertaining and frightening.I'm interested in what other members think about the themes and from where she borrowed them. Looking forward to the discussion about this one.
I totally loved the first half of the story, but I was a bit bored by the second part, I found it less interesting. anyway, it was a very enjoyable read
that one is most intriguing.and just get ready for when they get on it, it's shivers all the way through
Long time lurker coming in to say I just finished this because I couldn’t stop reading, and I LOVED it!! Thanks to this marvellous group for the suggestion!:) Even managed to write a review haha..
My copy of the book arrived last night. Not sure when I'll get the chance to start reading. I'm glad so many others are enjoying it.

Same here!!!
Same here!!!
Too many books and not enough time to read but I've got to find a way to fit this one in for the month! LOLIt has a really cool plot and would love to join for the group read.
Giovanni wrote: "I totally loved the first half of the story, but I was a bit bored by the second part, I found it less interesting. anyway, it was a very enjoyable read"I agree. I'm about halfway through and am starting to get a little bored, so I started something else because if i get to bored i will dnf it and I'd rather not.
i finished the book so i'm down to chat with others who have finished it!! i dont wanna spoil anything but it's so hard!!
Just got started and am picturing Voller looking like Johns and Kovalik looking like Carolyn Fry from the movie Pitch Black. Too bad there won't be a Riddick.
I just picked up CACKLE (that I meant to read last year), so planning on starting this book later in the week!
I just finished this over the weekend. I really enjoyed it. It gave me alot of ghost ship the movie vibes.
I'm listening to the audiobook. I'm on chapter 14, and loving the scenes on the Aurora. Easy to imagine a space Titanic.
Listening to the book when I am at work. Currently on chapter 28. The second half does get a bit boring but I will finish it out. I am not usually drawn to space-type spooky but I have really enjoyed this story so far.
Not quite what I expected - you'll see - but well worth the read. A real Page Turner: I read it in two days. Didn't want to put it down. Very well written.
Finished it today and just loved it. Claire was such a well written character and things really got intense! I read a book with a very similiar premise not too far ago (The Ghost Line), but I enjoyed Dead Silence so much more, probably also due to taking more time to make the characters believable.
I'm about halfway thru and really liking it so far. Agree with October on the Ghost Ship vibes. There's a fair amount of Event Horizon mixed in too.
I'm 50% in now, I like it too and completely agree with the comparisons to Ghost Ship and Event Horizon. I actually re-watched Event Horizon yesterday because the book reminded me of it, especially the (view spoiler).

I finished Dead Silence yesterday and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great and I really liked the psychological aspect. Glad I read it.

Rewatching it I wasn't scared at all, it has its flaws but I would recommend it anyway 😊
The book is really intriguing, like a murderous space puzzle...
Just finished. I thought the first half was a lot better than the second half, but still enjoyed it.

Started yesterday, and that was EXACTLY what came to mind: Ghost Ship!

I've had much opportunity to read lately. I'll start this one soon. After The Luminous Dead, I'm keeping my expectations low with another sci-fi book. Although people seem to be more positive about this one....
Ghost Ship is one of my favourite underrated horror movies so this makes me excited :D I'm currently still 7th in line in my library holds, but they have 5 copies. I'm hoping by next week I'll get it.

I loved that movie so much--I'm more than 1/2 way through the book, and the vibes are strong here! (I need a rewatch of that after this!!)

This book has really captured my attention (and is keeping it!)

I am about 30% so far is OK. Some images are very good, not creepy or scary, but macabres. Sometimes the actitude of the first character is quite repetitive (OK I a know you have going through, do not keep telling me!!!). Let´s see how it goes..
This one gave me some excellent images that I’m going to keep with me- one particular about how stuff freezes in space—— can’t wait to talk about it with y’all.
My library hold came in. It always takes forever so what a surprise. Sci-fi isn’t my thing but I’m gonna try this. Starting Monday.

Picture it as a boat in the ocean!

It's almost more of a mystery set in outerspace.

I haven't had much opportunity to read this week but I did start it. I'm on Chapter 7. I'm liking it so far :) Revealing just enough information to move the story along but hiding enough of it to keep the mystery up. Hoping to knock out a few more chapters today.
