Welcome back to the Amazing Around the Year Around the World Baking Biking Race! I'm your host Betty Spaghetti and you butter be ready for another exciting episode! There have been some...concerns...about contestant safety and we hear you. Your concerns are valid. Especially today since our contestants will be leaving their boring old mountain bikes for pedal-boats!! Don't try this at home, kids; these people are professionals and more importantly they signed full liability waivers.
Their mission is to make their way north along the South American coast in their pedalboats while making beautiful delicious traditional Rogel cakes! In teams of two! For fun! Can they navigate the waters of friendship while building a multi-layered puff pastry? Will the sweetness of the dulce de leche smooth the tensions of teamwork? WILL THE MERINGUE FALL????
We await them 4917 miles north of their starting point of Rio Grande Argentina. For clarity we are in Sao Paulo Brazil. We really thought they'd be just as fast at pedaling a boat as a bike. We may have made a mistake. Tune in next time!

Welcome back to the Amazing Around the Year Around the World Baking Biking Race! I'm your host Betty Spaghetti and it's Donut Day! Our competitors straggled in late last night, mumbling something about how the last challenge was completely unfair, so the judges opted to give everyone a pass. Who knew pedal boats on the open ocean were a bad idea? Not us. We don't think ahead.
Today's challenge was much more straightforward. Back on the bikes, our bakers savored the open road while making their favorite Brazilian donuts! Bolinhos de chuva, sonhos de doce de leite, and churros oh my! The spices are in the air and the competition is out of the oven and into the frying pan! Does that make any sense? Who cares! DONUTS!
4578 miles later it was a fierce battle for the finish line here in Paramaribo Suriname! They came across in a glaze of glory! But there could be only one winner...And this week's Handshake of Hunger went to Kelly of Kentucky! She had the best bake of the week, donut doubt it! See you next time!
