Michelle | 2656 comments Leonardo ready to wear. Sorry it's wedding fever in my house ( not mine). So I'm thinking the whole package wedding dress. Original dress. Trina. And of course in my version I'm marrying in Roarke grounds.

Kirsten (kmcripn) Congratulations, Michelle! Good luck! Don't stress too much and enjoy the day!

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 1070 comments I like how Eve's whole unit is starting to take a larger part in the series. In earlier books, Baxter and Trueheart would get a minor part, then Santiago and (I can't remember) maybe a line or two. Eve's world is becoming larger.

I like that too, Dee. The scenes including more of the other cops rings true...not only do we get to see them at work, we also get to see how they interact with Eve and often with Roarke as well as with each other. I think it's added a new depth to these scenes as well as allowed readers to get to know more in the way of different personalities, etc.

I am about 60% through this one (finally, yes I know).

I agree about this scene. I like to see that Roarke sometimes is human and comes home in a bad mood and gets put out by Eve's dropping the ball. He rolls with it so well most of the time, it's nice to see him on the other foot on occasion.

Belles | 156 comments I really liked Banner, the officer from Arkansas. He was a good character to throw in the mix, especially since we explored the recurring theme of corruption in the federal agencies. A few good cops could accomplish what an entire federal agency couldn't even see.

Dee mentioned above that we're getting to see a lot more of Eve's unit, and getting to know them better individually. Eve mentioned that she's looking to take on a new officer, but we didn't get to find out who that is in this book.

I love that Feeney got a magic coat! And I liked his reaction to it, though it would have been more fun if he had a socially awkward reaction just to put Eve on the spot more. Eve giving him a gift and him accepting a gift from Eve was painfully embarrassing for both of them. It was great that Summerset kind of forced her into it by shoving the box in her hand in front of Feeney.

There was a great scene between Eve and DeWinter where Eve sort of orders DeWinter to drop everything and examine a few of the exhumed bodies. It was great because they both realized that two intelligent, headstrong women didn't have to be 'enemies' with each other and that working together would make them a very formidable team.
