25.2 - Schatzie’s Task: Garden Quotes

I love to garden. It is an addiction for me every spring, but also in the summer and fall and even now as I start my seedlings.

This is a 2 book challenge. Pick 2 different options and read one book from each.
Rereads and books with the genre “kids” or “children” may not be used.

Required: state which options you choose and that it is not reread for you.

OPTION 1: “Planting a flower’s like opening a book, because either way you are starting something,”-- Nora Roberts.
Read a book that has a flower or flowers on the cover.
Required: Include book cover when you post.

OPTION 2: “Garden design is all about concealment and surprise.” –- Andrew Crofts
Read a book with the main page genre of “Crime”, “Mystery”, “Suspense”, or Thriller”. The genre can be stand alone or embedded.

OPTION 3: “Gardens are a form of autobiography,” -- Robert Dash.
Read an autobiography or memoir. This must be a non-fiction account about the author’s own life.

OPTION 4: “Gardening is a way of showing that you believe in tomorrow,” -- Anonymous.
Read a book with the main page genre of Science Fiction. Genre can be stand alone or embedded.

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3799 comments Is this enough flowers for option one? Mum's the Word (A Flower Shop Mystery, #1) by Kate Collins . Or will it be better off in option two?

for option 1?

First Frost (Waverley Family #2) by Sarah Addison Allen

message 11: by Donna (new)

Donna | 1271 comments yes, it works...or the apple on the cover can be used for one of the other challenges.

Donna Jo Atwood | 2412 comments May I use Pioneer Girl The Annotated Autobiography by Laura Ingalls Wilder for option 1. The flowers are mainly around her ankles on the front cover. Also as of today there are no Childrens or kids in genres.

It works and I didn't see Chilrens or kids mentioned as a genre either.

Jamie | 421 comments Does "Science Fiction Fantasy" work for Option 4 for the main page genre?

It's not embedded, but it's obviously a variation

Thanks!

The Land of Night is the book I am thinking of but the question is more generic

Your book can be used for option 1 or option 4.

message 34: by Berls (new)

Berls I'm wondering if the roses on her dress would count on this cover for option 1?

Hope's Reign (Memory's Wake Trilogy, #2) by Selina Fenech

message 42: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (queen_of_booklandia) For number 3 will a book with 2 authors count? The book I'm thinking of (cannot currently remember the title) is an autobiographical account of the man's time in prison, what landed him there, etc. But it's by him and someone else, I'm guessing a journalist?

message 43: by Donna (new)

Donna | 1271 comments Kat wrote: "For number 3 will a book with 2 authors count? The book I'm thinking of (cannot currently remember the title) is an autobiographical account of the man's time in prison, what landed him there, etc...."

Sorry, but a dual authorship won't work because of how the task is worded.

"This must be a non-fiction account about the author’s own life."
