Not sure of Genre. I think it was a Robert McCammon book. Boy discovers a living triceratops in modern times.

Robert McCammon is typically horror, but I really don't remember anything else about the book except that a boy, I believe living in the southern US, discovers a living triceratops.

I read this book sometime in the 90s. I've read his book descriptions, but I really can't recall anything else about the book, so none of them help much.

Absolutely. I'm pretty sure that the finding of the triceratops wasn't the main plot point of the book, more of a side story in it. Weird things happening around the area type of thing.
