Possible domestic thriller-affair-plotting against husband- Spoiler.

I’m trying to find a book my friend is desperate to read again.
He read it about four years ago he thinks and this is what I know about it.

A man gets a job through his friend as a gardener for a wealthy couple.
The husband appears to be absent a lot of the time and the wife has an affair with said gardener.
They begin to plot how to get rid of the husband for good so that they can be together.
Full of plot twists and nothing is as you expect and it turns out to be some sort of set up.
He didn’t tell me anything more than that in the hopes I figure out what it is so I can read it too.
