Ethan Fogal | 2 comments In middle school (around 2004-2005) I read a book about necromancy, or a zombie-type character, haunting the protagonist. It was less about the magic, and not fantasy, but this spirit/corpse came to life and this entity could have been beneficial for the protagonists motives. I’m not sure if it was a typical “unlikely duo” story, but I vaguely remember the protagonist not wanting, or fearing this entity, but it wasn’t quite horror. I feel like it was set in like New Orleans or the UK. I also think this entity, or someone, had the name of either Jekyll or Hyde, but I know it’s not the original- or even a spin off, but just a nod. All of this is very vague and fleeting, but I believe the back cover/spine may have been blue, and on the cover was either the image (or silhouette) of this green-faced character with a top hat, possibly looming or peaking over the main character. The main character may have been female. I believe it was set in the 1800s and probably published pre-2000, I'm thinking 80s. It was most likely less than 300 pages, probably closer to 200. This book was in a Catholic elementary school classroom so it’s likely not too heavy, but we did have the Scary Stories series too.

Librarian Jessie (BibliophileRoses) (toloveisdestroy) | 11 comments Hi Ethan, I found a copy of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde that looks like the cover you mentioned: https://www.christianbook.com/dr-jeky... -> I believe your book description may be a separate book from the cover, seeing as this is just the classic Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Hope you find it!

Ethan Fogal | 2 comments Thanks Jessie! This cover is both exactly what I described but not what’s in my minds eye, it was more cartoonish and he had like a Billy from Hocus Pocus complexion and partial nose and was facing the other way I think. I’ll try to do more thinking and see what I can come up with.
