It isn't really longer, but it is my physical book so it takes longer because I can't multi-task like I do with my audios. It will probably take me all week to read it.
I finished Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead and started The Mermaid's Sister.Almeta, I think you'll really like The Finlay Donovan books. They're a lot of fun.
Finished To a Tea2️⃣Read a book with the word “tea” in the title or with a teacup on cover
and Picture Perfect Frame
3️⃣Read a book with a shop front on cover

Ikr? That's why I choose to read it at night and make a pages goal each day so I'll be able to finish it, lol
@Team One Running MatesWe are close to the possibility of completing a third city!
If you are able to read another book, see if you can find one for these tasks:
🌎Boston ~ set in city
3️⃣set in a college or university
Good Morning (Evening)!Starting the day with A Dictionary of Mutual Understanding .
You are all doing great! See you this afternoon.
Ayacchi wrote: "Do these count as set in college?Lucky Jim
Changing Places
Dear Committee Members"
Yes, all three would qualify.

I did the same! :)
Ayacchi wrote: "Done the theft book, off with college book"Saw your report.
Off to College it is. You are on fire!☺
You are all doing so good! I'm almost done A Burial at Sea. Amateur detective books make such good quick reading for topplers for me.
Almeta wrote: "Saw your report.Off to College it is. You are on fire!☺"
I'm burning 🔥
Kristie wrote: "Which college book did you decide to read, Aya?"
I pick the shortest one, Dear Committee Members. I've never read any Academia book, so I think anything will do
Vicki wrote: "You are all doing so good! I'm almost done A Burial at Sea. Amateur detective books make such good quick reading for topplers for me."Very fond of detective books.
Sorry everyone, I've had an arse of a week so far. But I decided today that I would take Friday off. I'm exhausted, hate work, generally annoyed, I have no meetings or anything important for Friday and heaps of leave.I'm hoping i can finish the last 40pp of my first book tomorrow, and then smash out the second over Friday and Saturday.
Man oh man... I'm about 2/3 through The Mermaid's Sister and it's so dreary. I was expecting whimsical... I hope to finish tomorrow.
Kristie wrote: "Very good, Aya! I was just curious what you were reading. Hope you enjoy it. :)"I failed to see 'epistolary' word on the blurb orz. It can be used for Site 14, but I'd prefer Anne of Windy Poplars if I have to choose
Kristie wrote: "Man oh man... I'm about 2/3 through The Mermaid's Sister and it's so dreary. I was expecting whimsical... I hope to finish tomorrow."Oh no, taking a hit for the team!
Beth wrote: "Going to do Prince of Thieves for Boston (works for CH task in annual challenge..."It is always satisfying when a book can serve for more than one challenge!
Thanks Beth.
@Team One Running MatesWe are getting awfully close to completing three cities. You are doing a wonderful job.
Remember if you find that you may not have time to complete one of your assigned tasks, tell us. We might be able to help.
If you have finished your tasks, with time for one more, just choose any task in any city and read for your pleasure. It will count for another 10 points.
I'm a bit busy today but I've been reading my books, and I'm also reading for New York 10, Chinese/Jewish MC
I finished The Mermaid's Sister. The last third of the book lightened up quite a bit. It was quite a contrast to how gloomy the first two thirds were.
@Team One Running MatesHere are the commitments that are left:
For Chicago:
fire on cover or MC who is a firefighter ~ Kristie
is also a movie or TV show ~ Rusalka
For Berlin:
set during a war~ Vicki
For Boston ~
set in a college or university ~ Aya
Missing 60 points
No cities completed
Missing 60 points
We currently have 330 points out of 450 points

Chicago: 9️⃣ is also a movie or TV show - Was made into the movie Blade Runner."
Blade Runner is one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies. I was disappointed in Do Androids.....
What did YOU think?
Oh gosh... my hubby has decided that today is the day he wants to chat about everything under the sun. It is also the day I planned to stay home and finish my third read because he's supposed to be working. So... I ended up buying the audio so that I can finish it faster and be on the move. I will still finish on time! :)
Kristie wrote: "Oh gosh... my hubby has decided that today is the day he wants to chat about everything under the sun. It is also the day I planned to stay home and finish my third read because he's supposed to be..."Oh dear! *snort*
Almeta wrote: "Blade Runner is one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies. I was disappointed in Dp Androids.....What did YOU think?"
Confession time. I have never seen Blade Runner. Or the remake. Never.
I found this... meh. Which also made it hard to push through on a bad week. There wasn't much to it. The Philosophy stuff was heavy handed and unoriginal. It was more than a little sexist. I didn't really care for the protagonist. I cared for the goat, but the animal thing was a bit weird and more explained than a lot of things but not really.
It's read. I'm looking at the rest of the Dick books on the shelves dubiously. Particularly as their purchaser, Lexx, saw what I was reading the other day and was like "Dick's a bit.... arrggh *hand waggle*"
May be a good shelf to clean out
Kristie wrote: "Oh gosh... my hubby has decided that today is the day he wants to chat about everything under the sun. when she never gives me a single glance otherwise!
All of a sudden "pay attention to ME!"

"They" have fiddled with the movie a few times AND I was disappointed in those changes.
As for the books, I recommend clearing your shelf. lol!
Sounds like Rus took a hit for the team too. lol Hope next week and your next book are both better for you, Rus.
I have a 17 year old's birthday party in 3 hours. And 200pp to read. I think I mentioned our friends have just moved home to Canberra, and the kids started school in the past week so don't have friends yet. But when asked if they wanted to invite any friends to their party besides family, they asked if we could come. So no bailing on this party!
Hopefully being for someone turning 17 with their family, it will be early enough for us to sneak away and me have some more hours left in the evening/night to finish everything up. I mean, if we are raging on at 3am, I hate to see what her 18th will be like!!
