Carrie Tucker | 2 comments Book was read by 8th grader 2-3 years ago in 2019-2020.
A human family is passing as monsters in a monster world. At the opening reader learns mother made a mistake and died along with sister. Father teaches son how to pass as a monster. Father dies, boy is alone. Boy is selected for a special competition where he is surprised to meet a human girl who is also passing as a monster.
