SOLVED: Children's/YA > SOLVED. YA Fantasy I think: the main character is trying to visit where they think their mother is burried, but it turns out to be a hospital and she's alive. The mother paints pictures and there are some of the main character. [s]

Laura Hann (laura_liz) I think that the Mc dad told her (and everyone else) that her mother was dead so he could move on to someone else, but he had stuck her in a hospital in the countryside.

Laura Hann (laura_liz) I thought that I read it last year, but I've looked at the titles of all of the books I've read within the last year and nothing seems to fit. I honestly can't remember anything else about it except that one part. I'm starting to doubt that it even exists, and that maybe it was in a movie or TV show or even a dream lol

Laura Hann (laura_liz) a teenager, and I believe that she went there (to visit the grave) with the love interest of the book. I think that her father was a pretty important person, like a lord or king. the mother had gotten sick or was injured or something and wasn't mentally sound. The father didn't want to deal with it so he told everyone she had died and stuck her in the hospital. because of her mental state she couldn't remember stuff, but the Mc recognized herself as a child in the paintings her mother did. She pretended to have been sent by father to check in, without telling the hospital staff that she was his daughter. I believe that because of whatever else was happening in the book, the Mc had to leave her mother there for the time being.

How long ago did you read this? And any idea if it was recently published or an old book?

Laura Hann (laura_liz) I thought I read it last year, but I'm not sure. I would think that it's a more recently published book, I would say within the last 5 years, but I'm not sure.
