Some small but excellent books that should pad out a Christmas stocking nicely (and are Christmassy or have Christmas content!), offered without a specific associated gift:
~ Little Grey Rabbit's Christmas (young (female) child) ~ The Dark is Rising (preteen/early teen (male) kid) - see separate post for additions ~ Octagon Magic (preteen/early teen (female) kid) - see separate post for additions ~ A Child's Christmas in Wales, Orion hardcover (mini) version with illustrations by Edward Ardizzone (anyone Welsh or with a love of yesteryear) ~ The Jolly Christmas Postman by Ahlberg/Ahlberg (children) ~ Stubby Pringle's Christmas for Red Dead Redemption fans and old-school cowboys (teens and adults) ~ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is certainly Christmassy, and even with the supplemental additions (see post), the whole thing might fit in a stocking (unless you buy the full omnibus edition!). (middle grade and up)
