Date Read: February 28, 2022

I am still really liking this series! It's hard to say too much here without being very spoilery for the first and second books, but I'll say that the only thing I liked less in this one was that the first half of the book had more a bit more politics and a bit less action than I would have chosen. But still a great book and I'm excited to see what happens in the third of the series!

This is one of those series that I come back to and forget how much I enjoy it. I can't believe that after Rose and Dimitri found a way to be together that a twist of fate throws them further apart. Lots of twists and turns in this to keep the reader guessing. Can't wait to read the next in the series, Rose needs a HEA

I really enjoyed this book which had a curious mix of magic, paranormal and British mystery. I loved the MC Peter Grant and the cultural references. I listened to this on audio which gave a different perception, at the end of each chapter there was musical break reminiscent of british 50s PI TV series. Can't wait to read the next in the series.

Good Job!! :D

Weekend is coming to an end but was a good one :) My husband's grandmother turned 80 on the weekend and it makes you reflect on how long and short 80 years must feel!
I'm struggling to pick a shifters book (which is odd for me) but should find one tonight.

Review: Well the fun begins and of course trouble comes along with it. I loved the fun moments between Kate and Curran which I'm sure it wasn't exactly what it was but still fun for me especially the button being glue to the seat. I do have when you have a fam I member trying to kill you.
Then finally some honest and real conversations was made and some hot fun too but I see some more trouble coming and I can't wait to continue this series.

Review: Loved it!!!
So much fun and sweet and of course one character I did not like right from the beginning, Tom. As soon as he was introduced I did not like him and his snarky, cocky smile. I knew he wasn't what he aimed to be but I have him the benefit of the doubt. As for Adam, you can't help but like a bloody man. He was too hard to resist. Olive was just too sweet and needed to be a bit more stronger but her character suited her and was perfect. It went well with all that went on and her friends Malcolm and Anh were so much fun too.
I really enjoyed this story and some parts hot home for me and made me love it more.

Review: Well when you decide to be a sneaky, lying jerk, you better expect someone is not going to like it. This was definitely fun to read and makes me want to start knitting again and these days I feel like Lucy, where it seems like something is always happening. LOL Lucy sure gets caught up in the issues of others but also finds some new/old friends which she's learning all may have their problems but also are pretty close knit. It's sad that some people just aren't opening their eyes to the things that are happening to them and also how it affects others but I guess greed is a powerful enemy and can cause someone to want to kill another. I wonder what other body or bodies will pop up.

Review: Kate has a lot going on. Between running her own business since she left the Order to be with yummy Curran, dealing with a vampire, magic being out of whack and with stuff she has on her mind, which I totally understand, since all the new information that she has learned about her mother and the man she considered a father. It can really mess with someone's head for sure but to also figure out what is going on with the magic too. Boy there is never a dull moment for Kate. What's a girl to do with all these things going on?! I don't get how she stays sane. LOL
I have to say there are some fun characters that I am finding really fun especially Ascanio. That boy needs some cold water thrown at him on multiple times, LOL Oh and Julia is a real whip and too smart with her mouth but you can't help but laugh at her.

I was really disappointed here. I will start with the positives: the humour was really good, and the writing was pretty good quality. But ultimately, this was pitched to me as a romance and I found the chemistry between the male and female lead to be ZERO. When they kissed for the first time, I actually had to read back to confirm that it had happened... very anticlimactic.
Some of the supporting characters were better so perhaps I will look at the rest of the series to see if there's one that might be better. But disappointing :-(

I absolutely lived this book, it had been a while since I'd read the first in the series it took me a little while to recall the events of the previous book. The first half of the book centres around Freye and Tamlins relationship, but when Tamlin traps her within the castle she uses her inner powers to escape and is taken to the Night court where she learns more of her power and develops within herself. The second half of the book was fast paced and I can't wait to read the next in the series.

This was pretty good - and a little bit scary. Dystopian, but really relevant to so many things still happening in our world. Humans are medically created (not born) and are conditioned for their destined roles from childhood onward. Very thought-provoking.
My negatives were that it was hard to connect to the characters. I find this is common in older books, though - there seems like there was just less focus on writing to build an emotional connection.

This was a bit of a strange book basically a mash up between twilight and Percy Jackson. Sent to Athens on student exchange Gertie is thrown into a world of Vampires and Gods. This had the potential to be a really good book but unfortunately fell short for me. Not sure if I will continue with the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this installment the dynamic between Feyre and her mate and sisters was great, and it was good to see how the sisters came to terms with being turned high-fae in the cauldron. My heart practically stopped as the battle came to a climax and Feyre lost her link to her mate. Can't wait to read the next in the series.

I enjoyed this insta-love shifter tale. Tessa and her family move to Texas where she meets Dastien. This was pretty fast paced, Tessa is a witch (which we only find out halfway through) and Dastien is a Werewolf. When they kiss at a party this leads to Tessa being bitten and she is turned into a werewolf. Tessa is then sent to a special school for werewolves. Things move quite quickly as Tessa struggles with her fear of shifting and the rivalry of a fellow student and her growing attraction to Dastien.

This was such a cute little book! There's a Netflix movie so now I am going to have to watch it. I thought this would be a really fluffy teen read (and to some extent, it was) but it also had really nice deep points with Lara Jean's family. All the characters seemed realistic to me, and even though I'm not a high-schooler, I could definitely feel Lara Jean's struggles. And she was likable! Such a hard thing to write for a teen girl character.
I'll read the next one, for sure :-)
