Covid aside, I'm a little jealous of all your vacations and weekend trips! My dad just moved to Florida (right on the Alabama border), so I'm looking forward to visiting soon!I really think the library will be getting Abandoned in Death to me sometime this week. I'm moving up the list pretty quickly as the various libraries process the new purchases in! If I don't get it this week I will pick something else for my Free Space book.

Review:
I really enjoyed the writing of this entire series including this book. The MC Stevie (a female) is such a good teen protagonist. The time frame switches back and forth from the 1930's to present day which kept the mystery alive for me. There was a romance but I definitely didn't like it.

Review:
This was a NetGalley book for me that I kept putting off for so long. It had a neat premise of time travel which actually resulted living in an alternate reality. Similar to another book by Blake Crouch, Dark Matter, but with a bit more of a quirky MC. Tom Barren is the son of a genius who is working on time travel. He is involved in the experiment simply because he has the correct DNA. When he attempts to travel back in time to fix a mistake he makes , he returns to find that a lot has changed. I enjoyed this thought provoking book with the imagination of possible other worlds or the idea that one change in the past will drastically change the future. A fun sci-fi book for fans of time travel and alternate realities.

Hi Vicki. ~ Sorry to do this to you but I'm needing clarification on your selections.
Originally it looked like you chose The Hand on the Wall for Shelf week #1 - Alternate choice ~ Third book in a series
But your completion post is for the following week (which was called after your selection) for Shelf #2 ~ Alternate reality.
I think you can use that book for Week 1 shelf as the alternate because you started it before week 2 call. But you need to pick a book for Week 2.
Also, we have a new call for tonight.
Keep in mind teammates, we have 3 spaces currently with one shelf call tonight. So that will be 4 books in total.
Vicki, I posted your review to our Week 1 shelf completion. You just need to change your completion post to Sci-Fi Romance.Then choose week 2's book. (and free space when you get a chance- less urgent)

Cute STEM rom-com! This fun romantic academic comedy had me right from the beginning. Olive was a likable grad student just trying to do what she felt was best for everyone. Along the way she falls in love, aww. If you like a bit of a romance roller coaster with ups and downs that end leaving you feeling content then check this one out. Fun and fast, a great February read.

Review: Jenn and Cletus were never my favorite Winston couple. There's was not my favorite story. But Cletus is for sure my favorite Winston brother. I want a Cletus of my own. Someone hell-bent on evening every score, but who reforms for my sake? Yes, please! As a mystery? I had a lot of the points of the murder figured out long before the end. As a story of Jenn and Cletus? I loved it!

Landon & Shay is such an emotionally charged read. I love this couple! They are an enemies to lovers couple, and I mean they've hated each other since day 1 from long ago when they were children. I've read other "bet" books before where someone bets a person they can do xyz, but this one is a bit different. Landon is challenged with making Shay fall in love with him but she overhears them talking and determines to make him fall in love with her. From there the relationship does a complete turnaround. In trying to make the other love him/her, each one of them discovers the real Landon and Shay. I love the way their relationship evolves. This was a second read and I'm glad that I decided to read it again because it's so good.

Review: A few books ago, I really thought the In Death books had reached a point of diminishing returns. I gave only 3 stars to 4 books in a row. But the last few books seem to be returning to the things that make these books so good. Although there really wasn't enough Eve/Summerset interaction. There seldom is. :(
The mystery was engaging. I didn't figure it out too soon, for sure!

Review: I really enjoyed the ending to this trilogy! I was a little disappointed in the space battles. I admit I have been spoiled by reading David Weber. No one writes a space battle like him! But I expected more from the Illuminae authors. So that was disappointing, but I did understand that their focus was on (view spoiler)[Aurora's revelation that the didn't need to destroy the Ra'Haam. (hide spoiler)] Overall I thought it was a great read!
