Hey Team!!I'm excited too!! This is my first time participating.
Does anyone have anything planned out already?
I think my first book will be Cocoa Beach by Beatriz Williams
Cocoa is chocolate after all and my favorite hot drink!!!
Good luck to all and can't wait to see what you all are reading.
I don’t have a particular book yet, but UNO starts Feb 1, so hoping some of the books I have planned for that will fit.
That would definitely be nice. I love books that I can use across challenges. Have fun with UNO. I signed up but apparently missed the deadline so I am on the reserve list :(
Hi Everyone, Just checking in. I usually read one or two books. But I'll try to do more. I mean how hard is it to find chocolate and champagne in a book?🍫🥂
The first book I'm going to read in February is This Close to Okay. Sounds like the whole book centers around loving one another. It will fit for week one, as it has this sentence with chocolate, "...knew to bring her flowers, or chocolate or wine.". And this sentence for champagne, "Emmett smiled politely, drank his champagne".
BTW-That Cupid is a lot better than the rolly polly babyish looking Cupid that is normally portrayed!
Hi everyone! I hope you are all well and are excited like me. Never done anything like this before so this should be fun! I think I will read Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne FlukeI love the Hallmark movie series and I wanted to pick up this cozy mystery for awhile. Plus it is still winter and I want something cozy.

You are so right about chocolate and champagne. Any romance book probably has those two words in it multiple times.
I am excited to see what books everyone is going to read for this challenge.

have had that on my radar for a long long time but just never got around to reading it yet. Maybe I will read it for this challenge too!!!
Nanci wrote: "BTW-That Cupid is a lot better than the rolly polly babyish looking Cupid that is normally portrayed!"
I must say that I agree with you. That roly poly cupid is way out dated and over used.
Robin,We got the "hot" Cupid. Team Cupid got the out dated and over used Cupid. We win before the game even starts! LOL

Yipppeee!!! I hadn't even been over in Team Cupid so I had to go take a sneak peek lol. Oh yeah they got the "baby boy" version. Heck yeah!!! You're right, we already won : ) LOL
Ok team!!! Let's do this!! I have already started two books. I am 50% through Cocoa Beach by Beatriz Williams.
I am about 10% through Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke
I am hoping to finish at least one of them tonight. Will be back later to check in on all of you!!!
GO TEAM GO!!!!

I am going to start The Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder today and I am so happy someone else is reading this book!!!! I wanted to start this because I really enjoyed the Murder She Baked series on Hallmark and wanted to see how really different the movies are from the book.

I finished [book:Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder|33443] and enjoyed it!!! What??? No way!! I didn't know Hallmark had a series based off the books! I'm going to have to check it out. I really enjoyed the book. It was a nice easy read. I have had this series on my radar for a very long time. Never picked it up because I thought it might be a bit cheesy. But I rather enjoyed it. A little romance mixed in but not enough to make me roll my eyes LOL I hope you enjoy it as well and tell me what you think, especially how it matches up to the series.
Ok Team Eros!!! I posted our first books : ) I finished Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder last night and finished Cocoa Beach this morning.I hope this finds you all doing well with a good book in your hands.
I will be making my weekly trip to the library today or tomorrow and will see what books I can snag to read!!
Y'all are the best!! GO Team GO!!!
I finished This Close to Okay. Adding it to the post now. It was a solid 4 stars, which for me means I loved it!
Hi all! This is my first time playing. I'm reading Confessions on the 7:45 and it has champagne in the text. Where is the UNO game posted? I couldn't find it. :(

What you got coming up next? Any plans?
Robin, I know that for the week of 8-14th I will read Beautiful Country since on page 107 it has "My heart glowed as Ma Ma and I walked hand in hand..." and also on page 21 "...I saw them exchange a kiss."I'll also be reading A Raisin in the Sun which has this on page 40 "Bless his heart..." and for kiss on page 30 "I wouldn't kiss that woman goodbye.."
Still need to look to see if any of my other reads for this week will work.
Hi!! Please friend me if you would like, I enjoy seeing what everyone is reading… It’s an awesome way to find books I may have not otherwise known about!
I signed up for UNO and was soooo excited that I put books on the spreadsheet and didn’t check in on the main team thread! So I was booted lol. More time for this group I guess!
Nanci wrote: "Robin, I know that for the week of 8-14th I will read Beautiful Country since on page 107 it has "My heart glowed as Ma Ma and I walked hand in hand..." and also on page 21 "...I sa..."Awesome!!! I haven't looked into next week yet. I will try to do that over the weekend. I have read A Raisin in the Sun and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will have to look into your other choice :)
I went to the library today in search of books for a different challenge and lo and behold on the second or third page of one of them was the word CHAMPAGNE!!! So guess I will be reading it next LOL
Jodi wrote: "I signed up for UNO and was soooo excited that I put books on the spreadsheet and didn’t check in on the main team thread! So I was booted lol. I NEVER read anywhere in the rules or the sign-up that there was a sign up deadline. But apparently there was. So I missed the deadline and got put on the reserve list. I'm not one that likes to be a stand-by for group challenges like that. I like to start at the beginning.
Then I found this group and got interested in the challenges here and left the other group. Enough to keep me busy here LOL
I sent you a friend request too : )
I hope everyone is doing well and getting lots of reading time. The weather here has been super nasty. We had rain and it got cold and froze over night. A thin sheet of ice is covering some things but thankfully the roads are clear. We have a few flurries but nothing serious. Great reading weather.
I made a trip to the library yesterday and picked up some books. I posted 2 more books I read. They were short pretty easy reads but enjoyable. It's nice to stay in and have nothing to do but read, eat snacks and drink hot tea and hot cocoa. LOL
Keep reading and I will catch y'all back here later!!!
GO TEAM GO!!!!!!
Jodi and Robin, so sorry you missed out on UNO. Join The Perks of Being a Book Addict group and set your notification to get messages or notified and then you'll get a notice to sign up for the next one. You two would be fun to have on a team!
Happy Saturday all! I decided to switch up on books because I happened to see that Confessions on the 7:45 has the text "soul mate" in it so am about to post another book I just completed for this weeks. Mainly just was checking in saying hello! :)
Always great when a book works for another week or another challenge. I think "soul mate" will be hard to find, so good for you! I'm hoping one of my books will have two people who are soul mates, so I don't have to find the exact wording.

Yes the tv movie is actually almost spot on with the books. Some minor changes here and there, but overall pretty good. For the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries the first handful movies are under Murder She Baked Series and the latest one that came out about 2 years ago was called Hannah Swensen Mystery. Not sure if they put them out on DVD or not.
Nanci wrote: "Jodi and Robin, so sorry you missed out on UNO. LOL When I didn't make it onto an UNO team I got more involved with this group.
WTG team!!! We killed chocolate and champagne!!! You all ROCK!!!
I haven't decided yet what I will read for this week but I will work something out and pull in with my 2-3 books for this week : )
I hope you all are doing well and look forward to seeing what you all are reading! Have a great week and keep reading some great books.
GO TEAM EROS GO!!!!

Thanks for letting me know. I am definitely going to check out the movies because I will definitely be continuing with reading the series. I enjoyed Chocolate Chip.
What are you planning on reading for this week?
We earned 45 points for last round vs Cupid earned 33. Way to go team! I woke up early this morning and got a head start on one of my books. Off to the inside pool for my swim and then hope to finish it up!
Wahoo!! Great job everyone! What do y’all think about this next weeks task.. would just ‘heart’ or ‘kiss’ be acceptable?
Jodi wrote: "Wahoo!! Great job everyone! What do y’all think about this next weeks task.. would just ‘heart’ or ‘kiss’ be acceptable?"So funny you're asking that! I just sent a message to Donna with the same question. I'll let you know when I hear from her. :)
Donna was speedy! Here's her response...If you look at the check-ins on your team, you will notice that some of the books from the first theme only fit one of the two items. If it fits both, great. If it only fits one, that is fine as well.
It's good news for me, as I'm reading Why We Swim and it only has "heart" mentioned. Now it will count as another book for this week!

Yes, I am trying to keep this easy & fun for you guys. If you can justify how it fits the theme, then it fits. Let's not overcomplicate things.

Had a lot going on but I should have a few books read by the end of the week!
Keep up the good "reading"
Jodi wrote: "Wahoo!! Great job everyone! What do y’all think about this next weeks task.. would just ‘heart’ or ‘kiss’ be acceptable?"I wasn't sure what I was going to read for this week. Was kinda stumped but found a series that I started a few years ago. Read the first one and forgot about it. Every title in the series starts with "A Heart's..." so woohoooo win/win for me LOL
happy reading to ya!!!
