Bingo FAQ ~ Don't hesitate! If you have a question, let us know.
Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week (Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace)
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game
Some team name ideas:Midnight Hour Readers
Twisted Twelfth - sounds like the name of a bar
Twerkin' Twelve - lmao - kind of my favorite.
Not it for captain.
Hi Everyone!I'm staring at 7 feet of snow that we've gotten over the past 3 weeks so I'm really looking forward to BSB to get me through to spring.
I'm really bad at naming things but I'll try to think of something. I'd really rather not be captain.
hi, ladies!I like the Twisted Twelfth as a name. I really don't want to be captain, but if Eziwanyi doesn't want it either, than I'll step up. I've done it before.
Christina (AKA Babbling) wrote: "hi, ladies!I like the Twisted Twelfth as a name. I really don't want to be captain, but if Eziwanyi doesn't want it either, than I'll step up. I've done it before."
Lol, hi everyone. My team won last round. I really like this game. I like twisted 12th. I don't mind being captain.
Is the name Twisted Twelfth okay?I want to get us started since competition starts tomorrow, right?
R11 Begins: Wed, 18 February
Shelf Announcements: A shelf will be posted every Wednesday on/around 1pm Pacific Standard Time (3pm Central time).
HOUSE KEEPING:
1. CHOOSE YOUR FREE SPACE BOOK TODAY. And post it so I can record it now. You can't start the free space book until the mod calls the first shelf tomorrow at 1pm, but let's figure out that book now.
2. I would like each team member to check in at least twice a week. That's minimum. Please let us know stuff like "my kids are sick so reading is slow."; "My book is slow and/or sucks"; "I don't have this book, can someone loan it to me?" etc"
Please let us know what's going on.
3. Ask questions if you are unsure, especially when it's one of those Cover color shelf--Red Cover. If you are unsure your book meets the requirements ask me or the mods. I would rather know that then find out AFTER you read a book that it won't work.
4. This is a competition. Let's have fun, but treat it as such. Don't fall behind on your books because catching up is hard.
5. Let's Ride!!!!

I liked book 1, I never went back to the series though

Thank you! I admit to being sleep-impaired fairly often, which encourages typos. So, many eyes are very welcome (especially as spell check kind of freaks out on the bingo cards!)

Judithe, I agree Soap Operas never end. Which ones do you watch? I watch all 3!
Team 12:What TV shows are you guys watching?
I watch: Arrow, The Walking Dead, Switched by Birth, Gotham, Sleepy Hollow and of course the soap operas General Hospital, Bold & the Beautiful and The Young & The Restless.
Impatiently waiting for: Outlander, The Game of Thrones, Bitten and Dancing with the Stars---a family show that I watch with my kiddos
Just sneaking by...and am generally anti-TV. But want to see Outlander so much that I may sign up for HULU...or just buy the DVDs....enough good reviews by people I trust & love that it would be worth it.Other than that, I watch Before & After (a remodeling show) and my daughter's favorite wide show (afternoon news & entertainment show...when I'm actually home at that time...it feels my mind with trivia that almost always makes me laugh at the absurdity of the world!) Other than that, I'd rather live in a book...
Though I may check out a couple of those shows...especially as a friend keeps chanting "Game of thrones GameOfThrones! at me...too much work to find it...(remember, resident of EFL country!)
Judithe wrote: "Just sneaking by...and am generally anti-TV. If you have, it will take you a couple of episodes to fall in love with Jamie since he didn't quite fit the description in the book. But when you fall, you fall because he OWNS that role!
I have...when I finally started it, I read through the first three or four without coming up for air. Then, I had to work, a lot. Now, I have a lot of free time. Not sure how Bingo is going to affect me getting caught up (catch up on tax paperwork first, howls responsible me...ha, focus on your book and you can easily enjoy an Outlander novel per shelf says the real me...)
Now, if you throw the first season (1/2 season?...and obviously necessary to include ALL of it so I can completely fall in love with Jamie again...though will almost admit a Jamie-clip infatuation) of Outlander DVD into the mix...boom...there goes one ninja! Tempting...tempting...
I've been watching: Empire, How to Get Away With Murder, Project Runway (just ended), some trash TV, The Walking Dead. on and off The Haves and the Have NotsI'm waiting on Game of Thrones to come back, Season 2 of The 100 to come to Netflix
Judithe wrote: "I have...when I finally started it, I read through the first three or four without coming up for air. Then, I had to work, a lot. Now, I have a lot of free time. Not sure how Bingo is going to..."
you are a fiend after my own heart. i have watched the Jamie clip a few--maybe 20 times. My husband started giving me the side eye so I have to watch in secret.
April---Judithe, just remember April for Outlander :D

Love Have and the Have nots. Tiki Sumpter is killing the game. I also forgot Being Mary Jane on my list.
I taped Empire for hubby and he's caught up, I will get around to it sometime.
The only trash tv I watch is MTV's The Challenge Exes. Don't ask why because I don't know why. But I have always watched those challenges.
Daffodil's Public Service Announcement✿After you post a rating and review of your book choice in your team thread, take a moment to add it to the group books
Hi Team Twelve!!!Can I join in - I've been doing a marathon re-watch of Outlander to get ready for the new season. It's even better the second time around!!
My dear Twisted TeamI will try not to bother you all anymore today. But here are some categories that may require pre-planning on our parts.
Categories
S is for supernatural (author's first or last name begins with 'S')
Armed & Ready (any form of weapon on cover)
Leather or Lace (character(s) wearing leather or lace (any form of lingerie) on cover)
I don't have books on my Feb/March starter plan with lace or even leather on it or a weapon. SMH.

Hi ya Leslie!
I am waiting for the close of season 1, then I will watch it all through. i will wait until the series is over (whenever that will be) before i buy the DVD.
Game of thrones should be awesome too!

Tiki Sumpter is gorgeous!!!
My trash TV is Love and Hip Hop on VH1. It's like a train wreck... Can't look away lol Other than that, I'm proud to say I do not watch a lot of trash TV.
I also like some YouTube shows.
I started my shelf 1 book and like it already.I can't decide between
or
for my free shelf book because both books got iffy audio reviews.
Shelf #1 ~ 18 Feb 2015: Favorite Genre: Historical Romance
Book: Highland Outlaw (Campbell Trilogy, #2) by Monica McCarty
Finished: 2/21
Rating & Review: ★★★½.
In this sequel, the eldest MacGregor is doing his best to keep his outlaw clan together after their lands where stolen from under them. To add insult to injury, their land is added to Elizabeth Campbell's dowry to help make her an attractive bargain to someone willing to be loyal and ally with the crown.
Patrick sees the vulnerable Elizabeth as a way to get his lands back. AFter all, she has had 3 broken engagements and her family keeps adding enticements to make her more attractive to a suitor. So Patrick sets out to do whatever needs to be done to reclaim that which was stolen from him, but what happens when he sees what a great lady his enemy's sister truly is?
I enjoyed this one. Elizabeth looked weak, but she wasn't. She was loyal, trusting but not an easy mark. She made Patrick work and she was worthy of him. This series has a bunch of clans who are interrelated and i hope they find a way to make lasting peace.
I really like this series in a way that I didn't enjoy Highland guard. It is well developed and interesting. I can't wait for book 3.

The internet TV/on demand TV (really not sure what the ENGLISH term is....dang...need to go on furlough to my native country!) has a two-week free trial. I'm trying to hold out...get it, watch all of Outlander, then figure out how to get hold of it on DVD.
I keep trying to tell myself it will be my reward for getting rid of my other holiday present (those extra kilos....) but know I'll buy it regardless so that hasn't been motivational. Sigh. Warm weather will help!

I support you to hold out. It is worth it. By fair the best imagery I've seen outside of 3D/omni Max theater. I feel like I could see rain droplets on the greenest leaves etc. The filming crew did the landscape justice. I wish I were there, it was so beautiful.
