SOLVED. YA Fantasy short series about a spooky family. [s]

i read these books in elementary school, around 2005, in english at the seattle public library. i am pretty sure they are a series, maybe of three, but i could be wrong and it is a single book.

what is compelling me to remember is the cover illustration. a pale faced family, with big doll eyes and dark circles under them. a brother and sister in the front and i believe parents in the background, mostly dark between the figures. their faces look almost to be made from white clay, they are so sallow and shadowed. maybe they are wearing purpleish clothing.

i recall these books as humorous, creepy, and light. they are from the occult/spooky genre, but i dont remember if the family members are all different creatures (like witch, vampire, etc) addams family style, if they are vampires, or if theyre just odd. i think maybe just odd!

i think the title was long. i didnt know many other kids that read these books, but i liked them more than a series of unfortunate events or charlie bone (other less famous but well known creepy YA/childrens series)
