A student asked me this morning about a book series that has floating cities, flying pirate ships, scary forests, different species and in the first book, the main character is a boy. The series eventually switches points of view with other characters. This student read the series approximately 6-7 years ago (2015-2016). She also said the people of the series are divided by classes of poor and rich, floating and bottom ground.
