SOLVED. YA Mystery, around mid- 2000s. Three go into a woods and only two come out, the cover had doll chain children on it I think and I also remember long shadows and the picture was like they were going into the woods. [s]

Help!! I can't remember the name of this book, it's a YA mystery. I read it in the 2000s (I'd guess mid ish). The story is that years ago 3 kids had gone into the woods but only 2 came out. The cover was like dark grey/green I want to say and I remember there being long shadows coming out behind the children on the cover and that they were walking towards some trees. Everything was sort of at an angle in the picture/surreal. I remember basically nothing about the story, I'm sorry. Any help is appreciated!
